Starting Points: Team Kimba

Starting Points: Team Kimba
Compiled by Schol-R-LEA
This is the first of several recommended 'jumping off points' for newcomers to the Whateley Academy stories. Different authors and fans have different suggestions, and I personally have a few lists in mind for people trying to get their bearings in the series.
This list covers the introductory stories for Team Kimba, the original Gen 1 main cast, going through the first week of classes for the Fall 2006 session at Whateley. Most of them were written early in the history of the series, though Lancer's stories were only added quite recently when Phoenix Spiritus took the reins for that character. Several of the stories cover the same material from different perspectives, and they provide much of the background material for the rest of the series. The stories for TK as a whole come first, followed by individual origin stories and their individual perspectives on the intro story.
Team Kimba as a group: "Welcome to Poe", "Quoth the Ninja, Nevermore!", and "First Assembly"
Chaka: "Enter the Chaka!"
Fey: "Mom, I don't Feel So Good", "PMS and Other Problems", and "Adjustments"
Generator and Shroud: "Coming Out","Away From Home" and "Becoming a Girl"
Phase: "Ayla and the Late Trevor Goodkind" and "Ayla and the Blackmailer"
Tennyo: "Unexpected Consequences", "Another Day, Where Are We Going Again?", and "First Day and Other Interesting Things"
Lancer: Hank did not get a stand-alone origin story, but much of his story is covered through flashbacks in "So Shalt Thou Show Me Friendship". Note, however, that this story takes place much later, and has many spoilers for events taking place during the next several months, including the deaths of a number of characters. In the timeline, it comes at the end of "The Riddle of Sappho", and is the immediate follow up to "To Sleep, Perchance to Dream"; as such, it refers directly to important events in the "Sappho" story arc. It also has several vignettes that discuss events earlier in the school year, as well, some of which had previously only been mentioned but not explained. The relevant part, which covers Hannah's transformation into Hank and the resulting fighting, are at the end of the piece.
