From the "Day" appellation and the mention of a bodyguard, I surmise that this is David Goodkind?
(It was mentioned a couple times in-canon that David's baby nickname was "Day")

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

Yep. This is an interim update to "Girls for Pele" . I'll post to the original fanfic thread when I have gotten further with it (assuming I do...).

If I can, I foresee three-way Brownie catfights in the future for Poe Cottage.

Am I wrong in thinking that there will be a swimming pool full of fudge involved in this fight?

Nope.
Lime Jello

I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

Either way, I expect that the cleanup for it would just lead to more fighting between Koehnes and Leanne (with the Menehune - I need to come up with a name for her - watching from a hiding spot and giggling manically).

Hmmn... given how she enters the story, I am tempted to go with 'Lilinoe' ('mists'), though since that's the name of a goddess, specifically, that might not be entirely appropriate for a lesser spirit.

Some cultures do name people after their deities. I don't know if that applies to Polynesian cultures.

I was really hoping to have jump-started the "Girls" story, but my muse is fickle.

So here's a bit of Le Coq's daughter again, instead. And yes, Chaka still has the habit of calling Ayla 'her' from time to time.

Just, what could this be about...

Anyway, the others - Anomaly, Elle Ruud, Mabd (whom I would guess has put herself back together by now), and whichever other returned notables of the Five Fold Court could make it - are already waiting to give the new students their orientation meeting for this year, in the area near the World Tree sapling.

I knew from the start that I wanted to have Eldritch be their guide into the Grove, or one of them, but I couldn't decide if it made more sense to have Fey, Anomaly, Whisper (assuming she could get leave time for it), Absinthe, or Sanctuary be there, too. In the end, I went with Julie Robinson and Nikki as the other guides.

As for Aerys, well, it would make sense from an archetypal perspective, if the Cetra (the faerie equivalents in the FFVII world) were based on a collective memory of a Fae race, the same way Ryoko was based on a collective memory of the Star Stalker; this might cause one of the Fae of that type, who also happened to be a FFVII fan, to take the form of a Cetra from the game - namely Aerith - when she manifested.
