  • How to make a scrumptious breakfast in a single pan.

    What do you need:
    - A 12-inch cast iron skillet
    - two eggs
    - two six oz. (just shy of 200 g each) steaks. Beef or Whatelely-approved Bison. They'll be about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick.
    - 1 Tablespoon (15ml) butter
    - Salt and pepper

Take both the eggs and the steaks out of the refrigerator for at least a 45 minutes to let them warm up. Salt and pepper both sides of the steak to taste.

Put the skillet on the stove to higher end of medium high (7/10 if you have a dial) for at least 10 minutes to gain a consistent heat.

Toss in the butter. It will sizzle immediately, but shouldn't burn. If it starts to brown, turn the heat down a setting.

Throw on the steaks! Sear each side for about 3-4 minutes each. When you flip them to the second side, turn the stove heat down to low.

Remove the steaks and allow them to rest on a plate covered with aluminum foil. Turn the stove off. The pan will retain enough heat.

Crack the eggs into the hot pan, heat until cooked. Over easy, over hard, whatever you prefer.

    Plate and enjoy!
