It came to me while I was thinking of a hybrid game show someone should make. It would be:
Bear Grylls Dancing with the Biggest American Ninja Losing Survivor
let your imagination run wild with THAT idea, and THEN let your imagination come up with some Whateley Universe game shows

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

Minion Surviors? A team of supervillains send their best minions to compete in a dangerous obstacle course where the survivor is guaranteed a place of honor as the next henchman to the mightiest super villain around. Of course he has to survive the lessor villains attempts in eradicating both him and his new found boss.

America's next Super Hero!
Yes they do follow them 24 / 7, no they don't censor or obfuscate any details. Bets on them getting Misty turn up anyway before Jadis finds her and pulls her out of the line?

Much like The Apprentice, the competitors get the chance to work for a major superhero if they can preform a number of tasks.
Hells Street, supervillian version of Hells Kitchen. Only available online.

Competitors face challenges from the life of a supervillain - planning robberies, kidnappings, holding cities hostage, destroying foes, building a lair, keeping loyal minions, etc, etc, etc. Each week, a new challenge. Each week, a panel of supervillains (appearing in audio or video but not in person) judge the efforts and eliminate one competitor.

Wondercute get to create a panel of Wierd Japaness games shows, and each week Venus Inc. draw one of them and have to recreate if for Whateley.
Kind of a Iron Chef plus behind the scenes TV Show reality show plus wacky Game Show all rolled into one.
Oh, and for that MST3K feel, we can have Ayla, Toni, Jadis and Natch doing the commentary. I'm thinking Toni and Natch just turn up and get to snipe away, but we make Ayla and Jadis watch the entire panel of weird Japanese Game Shows with Wondercute after they chose them, and both Ayal and Jadis are expected to be giving proper critics of how Venus Inc. is doing, and how well / imaginitively / successfully they pull of the "feel" of the game show.
Oh, and Wondercute is split amongst 'roving reporters' and 'expert advisors' for Venus Inc, as well as Jade fulfilling the role of "Chairman".

This is a garden variety cooking show, where the 4 contestants have to brave the wilds of a bio-devisor's green house, hunt down their ingredients (yes, the plants do fight back), and prepare a meal with the bounty. It's three rounds (appetizer, main dish, desert), and a contestant is cut after each round.

Contestants will be facing off against each other as well as being assigned to either a hero or villain in their design. Both sides will then square off in a contest to see what the audience thinks of the new costumes.
Winner gets to live. Loser? Stay tuned.

From coast-to-coast and pole to pole we've scoured the earth for the most powerful mutants to face the most extreme obstacle course ever devised! Now to say who's good, who's bad and who's badly dressed it's your hosts Kenny Blankenship and Vic Romano!

Every month, 10 random people (can be baselines or mutants, civilians, heroes or villains, its REALLY random) between 18 and 60 compete in a gameshow held in an unknown location.
They must make their way through a deadly maze, answering questions, bypassing traps and obstacles, and surviving deadly robots.
The weakest and unluckiest contestents die a gory death in slow motion getting all the gore and shock set to a laugh track. And at the end the survivors are allowed to escape into the back of a moving van where they're sedated before being depositing in a random city in their home country.
Best of all a snarky Brit comments on their progress, and lets the audience know just what the contestents are facing in extreme detail.
At the end, depending on how many points the contesant has earned and special challenges they overcame they'll find anywhere from 100 dollars to a million dollars deposited in their bank accounts. The losers will have their ashes mailed to their surviving family.
It's fun for the whole family, and if you're not careful you could find yourself on the Weakest Link: Darwin Edition

This, and mhalpern's game show on page 1, recall Arcade, an X-Men foe from the Claremont era; his kidnap-and-reality-deathtrap-show was usually called Murderworld. (At least once it involved the X-Men being in power-nullifying bubbles inside a giant pinball machine...)
