  • Two espers, one avatar, one spirit, one Ring, too many cultists, and a Man of God, but what's puzzling you is the nature of my game?

This is what happens when people ignore the forum posts for too long.

  • Some background:

A poster on Reddit asked the daily question: "How do you make an original character?" What came to mind was all the awful OCs of Tumblr:

"Character-wise, remember to put the "original" into the Original Character. "Harry Potter, but cooler and with dreadlocks, boobs, and a Pride flag in the background" isn't so original."

Easy to say, easy to demonstrate? Maybe, maybe not.
    • * Harry's a classic introvert, so let's have an extravert.
    • * Harry's initially unfailingly polite (until puberty kicks in), this guy could be a bit of a troll.
    • * So: an ENTP like Stiles Stilinski vs the ISFP Chosen One (Harry Potter, Eren Yeager, etc.)
    • * Not an orphan. Let's make him the product of a hippy commune!
    • * Looking for cool quotes for something else, I remember this Neil Gaiman classic:

Lucifer: "Cain. You must know of the Cainites?"
Cain: "Can't say that I do..."
Lucifer: "Gnostic sect. Second century. They rejected the books of the New Testament in favor of the Gospel of Judas.
They believed that we created the heaven and the earth, and that you were the persecuted party in that unfortunate affair with your brother. They also held that the way to salvation was to give way to lust and temptation in all things. And no greater percentage of them turned up here than of any other religion. Amusing, isn't it?”
― Neil Gaiman, Season of Mists

    • * Write an establishing scene in which his two co-mothers worry about sending him East to live among unbelievers. Now he's allergic to patchouli. That's one "massage oil" that won't be used again!
    • * Look for other stories set in Utah. Not many, but there's a mention of the Four Corners area: Our boy's now from SW Utah and has a very dim view of the FLDS
    • * How do they manage to not be run out of town? Bribery and blackmail, duh. Later: they also adopt "problem placements", and they side with the locals against destroying the watershed for boom-and-bust mining.
    • * Still seems a bit normal. Needs to be a mutant to play in the Whateley sandbox: Empathy sucks rocks without training!
    • * Rereading Merry's stories... Oh, this should raise a few eyebrows...
    • * Now then, how to make it all happen?

Have you figured out who Brother Jonathan is?

There's Vacation Bible School to get through and Pookie's introduction before we can send Mason to Whateley Academy . After which... ideas have already been planted.

Sensei Ito: "Miss Ellison, please do not attempt to banish the Church Knight's Hellhound in class again."

    Metro's on hiatus.
Falconer's manifestation day is written, but there are a few months still to outline and write.
Then there's Belfry's stories, because worldbuilding can be fun-da-mental.
