  • Hello guys, had some rough stuff come up and I have to ask for help. I've opened up a go fund me to cover medical bill that's come up. I wouldn't ask for this except it's interfering with my ability to write. Since that directly affects you guys I figured I would ask for help. I have some commitments to Whateley Academy that I'm becoming a danger of missing because of the loss of the use of my hands. To explain that I've included the text of the go fund me below. Thanks and I appreciate any help.

I'm creating this campaign to assist with medical bills that I'm having trouble covering myself. In June 2015 I somehow injured my neck which has resulted in significant loss of feeling and abilities of my hands, fingers and arms. I went from being able to type approximately 60 to 70 words a minute to around 15 or 20. In my day job I support servers and I work in a call center so typing is critical to my ability to earn a living.

I recently seen a chiropractor and had x-rays done to find the source of the issue. I've learned that my cervical vertebra are 12° out of alignment. My doctor tells me most people come seeking help because of pain at 3°. He's confident of his ability to restore my spine to alignment and return the use of my hands. This will require 15 successive visits every day for 15 days plus follow-up care. And why my insurance will cover 20 visits a year my co-pay is $40 a visit. This means I must have $600 upfront.

My good friend and fellow Whateley Academy author Elrod very generously from his own pocket bought me a copy of DragonDictate. This enabled me to finish the stories that I had started, but the learning curve of the software is quite steep and it's somewhat antithetical to my normal writing style.

I'm asking for help with this bill so I can quickly get under treatment and get the use of my hands back. While DragonDictate is been a great help I'm becoming concerned that I will miss commitments and slow up story progress that is dependent upon my contributions. I'm asking for $700 to assist with not only the visits required but the medications and supplemental care. Any overage of my request will be spent on making myself healthier to keep these kind of things from happening again.

I very much appreciate any assistance that can begin. Thank you and God bless.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

  • There are not words for how grateful, humbled, and proud I am to be a part of this fandom. It will be really hard for me to be cynical for a long time because of this miracle. And this reads soupy or maudlin it's only because there isn't a tear stained paper backdrop I could put behind it to get the context.

    Thank you so very much!!!

    :)

  • To whoever anonymously donated $700 bucks. I'm amazed! I didn't even have a chance to chip in the $20 I was gonna donate! You Rock!

  • It's absolutely amazing to see a bunch of authors stunned wordless by this sort of generosity. A big thank you to those who have already supported E.E.'s request... and an ongoing thank you to anyone else who contributes to give him a buffer to cover unexpected costs along the way (having to take time off to make appointments, fuel costs to get to the doctor, etc)... things that aren't in his usual budget but weren't obvious 'needs' compared to the straight out medical co-pay costs.

Fate guard you and grant you a Light to brighten your Way.
