    • I have a friend who has had a run of really crappy luck. Out of work for a long time, he also lost his wife some years ago, and now he's very probably suffering from depression. On top of that, he is on the verge of losing his house. Out of respect, he'll remain unnamed, but if you have prayers, I'm sure they wouldn't hurt.

    • I'm quite bummed for my friend; I wish I could help, but I can't. He's confirmed that the bank is foreclosing. His son is scared but hiding it. He's probably going to go dark on the internet, and he has no idea of what he's going to do. Yeah, it sounds frightening as hell, and alas, all I can do is sit back and wish and hope and pray. And that tears me up inside - I really, really wish I could do more.

    • This is the sort of thing that makes me wish I were wealthy. Screw all the fancy toys and dabbling in politics and all that stuff... finding people in situations like this and just stepping in and making it right. Like Sam Beckett, without all the light show time travel... :)

    • For all of you who've been wondering, I got some fantastic news from my friend this evening. The bank delayed foreclosing because he was trying to sell his house to get some equity back. He got it sold. Not sure what he's going to do, but it's a huge step toward getting things straightened out. For all of you who said a prayer, thank you on his behalf.
