I'm ShadowedSin, aka Quinn, Queer writer extradonaire!

Please feel free to leave comments, notes or whatever you feel will help to make Scald-Crow better. I ask that we keep things constructive (which I assume is a given). Thanks for reading my lovely first step into the Whately Universe.

  • Since this appears to be a rewrite from earlier postings, I'll just point out that it's nearly always worth your while to give text another read-through for spelling errors that your spell-checking software has missed.

One WTH moment: "I got some cold brew from my mason jar in the fridge and headed back to my room." Who keeps beer in a mason jar, or drinks it one ounce at a time?

N.B., I would consider putting a leftover partial bottle of mead in the fridge after bottling. I've also pulled samples during primary fermentation. Leaving those sitting open (You really, really don't want to seal up fermenting must in a glass jar!) in a refrigerator almost guarantees that the must won't be the only thing fermenting in that fridge afterwards.

    Forum-posted ideas are freely adoptable.

  • Cold Brew Coffee, I actually have a very large mason jar with a spout that holds several cups worth of coffee in it. This is what that sentence is based off. I actually brew it over night in massive mason jar pitcher named Jeff :D

  • Interesting story, looking forward to more. I like your perspective on the fae. There were a few misspellings and missed capitalizations. I am looking forward to more of this little tale.

  • Thanks! My take on the Fair Folk has always been "OMG KEEP AWAY" since you know their nasty little godlings! So the latest story which I rewrote today after it was eaten, adds a few more elements. I have a lineage to a certain character, and I have a greater idea for her. To note, all the Native imagery in this is the tribes I've grown up within WA, Salish peoples.

I just did a quick spell check edit of the second edition and I'll be doing a run on the first part later tomorrow.

I also posted a new thread in big pictures to help with my research for the story :D

  • Just got around to reading this and was pleasantly surprised to see you had added another chapter. I am very intrigued by your different take on The Sidhe, enjoyed it immensely.
Looking forward to the next installment :) :)
There are quite a lot of spelling type errors or wrong words used here and there, possibly due to your spell checkers dreaded auto correct  It did not spoil my enjoyment of the story though and I only mention it because I expect you would want to edit it before publishing the finished story as a Whateley I. • Thanks. I did run the second chapter through grammarly which has proven pretty useful. I will do a line read before I post this as a IF.

I haven't run the first chapter through the corrector just yet, I hope the mispellings and what not aren't too glaring.
