  • This story started out as a bad ideas concept, then I couldn't stop writing, rather than it being about super fights and such, its mostly about a character who wakes up every morning looking a little different, having a chance to deal with the changes a little bit at a time but at the same time, not knowing what will change when they go to sleep, learning to take things as they go, and how they feel about each part of their transformation

  • Some comments that are meant as more observations than criticisms....

Ben waking up and immediately yelling "I think I'm a mutant" is plausible, but usually people go through denial when faced with major changes in life abruptly.

The clerk at the hotel was unusually well informed about mutants, as Ms. Carson says, they try to keep it on the down-low about the whole changeling thing. For him to immediately assume this just based off of one sentence is a bit of a stretch.

Like you said, this is more of a framework for what you wanted to write, so I wont really go into the possible details you could provide at various points.

Tolerant family and while eyes are easy to deny, they weren't the first change (haven't gotten to them yet), just as there are families that are full blown H1 supporters, there would be some that even without a mutant in the family would see straight through the MCO for what it is, and such families would discuss the possibility of their children manifesting as mutants so that they don't panic if it happens.

The hotel clerk was just a fun scene in my head, and who says that he wasn't in Poe?

  • I wasn't just talking about the family and its acceptance of his mutant status, I'm saying if you woke up to the news a family member died, you'd go through the different stages of grief, of which, the first is denial.

Just saying it felt like mentally, several steps were jumped over.

that's under the assumption that they'd see it as a bad thing, rather than a "neutral thing" that means complications, besides, wwe've seen the "I can't be a mutant" how many times? And to me its more of a "Do you dwell on what you can't control, or do you try and move on?" thing, the dwelling option will happen when Betty realizes she's soon to be encased in her own shell, but at the first change, Ben has no reason to dwell, wont help him relearn to walk.

Also note lot of the backstory is left blank, I haven't even chosen a last name, on that front, all I know is that the last name is NOT Anderson, otherwise I have to ban all MCO agents with the name of "Smith" from meeting the father, and the name Smith is just too common.
