Question New applications for site

Well, the time is approaching folks...

This version of the Whateley site was built quickly to meet a desperate need when our previous site was destroyed by hackers and couldn't be repaired with the access and server control that we had (or didn't). This Joomla site has run nearly continually since going active in October 2015... only down as needed to recover from crashes a couple times (3-4?) for no more than a day. The Virtual Machine server it runs on is badly out of date / legacy setup at Google... and a LOT about it is glitchy as a result of regular use, little maintenance, and near constant attempts to hack/damage the site.

Today, we discovered that new applicants cannot create accounts. I can't do it, even in the back end as a super-user. Damage to the database prevents it.

Fortunately, I've been working on the next version of the site for some time... as time and mental focus allowed. I'll step up priority on this and we'll move over to the new site sometime soon; to restore full functionality to the site. In the meantime, those of you with accounts should still be able to use them... those of you without? Drop in on the discord chat or save up your comments so that you can offer them on the new site.
