  • So what happens to a kid who has some form of origin event and can't have their powers bottled up until they can use them wisely? Are there only options OlymPYC, home-school, or dealing with the sh-t stirred up by trying to go public/private schools after the event happens?

  • Of the paranormal types in the WU... generally only mutants result in pre-adult powers. The numbers of experiments or other types of power gain are so uncommon for teens that there is no justification for special programs for them.

  • But Whateley has been known to open an exception to non-mutants when it turns out there's no other reasonable option.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

Power Gems and Dyna hosts are removed if the wielder isn't an adult, usually, With the exception of the rare youth origin, its mostly mutants who get powers at the same time they go through puberty, even so, they don't get the same stigmas as mutants do.

Any Bad Ideas I have and microscene OC character stories are freely adoptable.

Given that Bladedancer, Journeyman, and Loophole (a somewhat ambiguous case) all attended Whateley. My guess is that if they can find out about Whateley they can be accepted into the school. Finding out is the problem, considering that Spectrum had never heard about Whateley until they were put in charge of Silver Ghost.

  • Along with about half of the G2 protagonists...

    *rolls eyes*

When everyone is trying to create that 'special unique' starting point for their characters, its not surprising that there is so much confusion about this sort of thing. We have more people breaking the standard than establishing it.

Most teens who manifest as mutants... just wake up one day with powers. Or start feeling something unusual going on over a short period of time, ending with some sort of expression of power.

Ya, I know its not an exciting start to being a mutant teenager... but there's plenty of ways to introduce excitement and conflict AFTER you have the powers.

  • Give the G2 crew some credit, only one character started off as a total non mutant (as far as I know). The others just have extra additions.

  • All teens are mutants. Fortunately, most of them grow back out of it.

Now you've tempted me to make a teenager with ice powers.

  • I was kind of thinking of Chiller when I started the topic, even though he's getting his GED by mail or what ever.

This railgun was loaded with a nuke, right?

No, but a large enough asteroid launched from orbit would create an explosive force and impact equal to a nuke, just no radiation, fallout, or emp like one.

  • It doesn't matter. My armor was rated for green weaponry, your railgun and space nuke were only orange. Remember, citizen, the computer is your friend. Have a nice day.

You know, its probably just me, but on reading this I got a flash of Loophole in hell "greeting" people and explaining that physics beats lawyering, technicalities and "belief" all the days of the week.

  • You cant destroy cake with mere physical violence. Cake is existential.
