Question Is it 'The Crystal Hall' or just 'Crystal Hall'

I was rereading Absinthe of Malice, and stumbled across Absinthe calling our favourite cafeteria 'Crystal Hall', as if it was the name of a restaurant. Now, I was pretty sure that was a once-off typo, where Morpheus forgot to add a 'the' to the beginning. But then I ran into the same thing a few more times, in other stories. I can't remember the specific titles of the stories, but I know it was referred as such in one of the early Alya stories, another time in the Kayada stories, and a few other occasions. However, I also ran into the spelling 'The Crystal Hall' a lot more, with most stories using that as the name. So, do we refer to the geodesic refectory space as 'Crystal Hall' or 'The Crystal Hall'?

P.S. I know this is largely irrelevant. But, it piked my curiosity. So I'm asking.

Are you talking about the building itself ("Crystal Hall") or the eponymous eatery it currently houses ("the Crystal Hall cafeteria" OR maybe "The Crystal Hall" if the licenses were registered that way), although that facility might just be "the Crystal Hall Cafeteria at Schuster Hall" if Crystal Hall is considered part of the building adjoining it?

Are you looking at usage in dialog? That can differ as well, depending on local usage. The Rathskeller at UF (before the place burned down, taking part of Johnson Hall with it) was usually called 'the Rat'.

Business licensing and alcohol licencing, subject to multiple layers of governance, can make correct usage even more baroque because if an establishment moves to a different location the required licenses may not transfer with it if it's under an entirely new name.

tl,dr: Whether we're talking about Batman or the Batman, proper names in English don't follow the One Mario Limit , so my best advice is to roll with it.

FWIW, "rathskeller" is the North American spelling of " ratskeller ", chosen under the mistaken impression that it avoids any reference to rats.

Think on that one a bit.

In German, "ratte" is a rat and "rat" is a town council or senior official.

In the US and other Anglophone nations, "rat" and "town councilman" can be considered a false distinction.

I was referring to the cafeteria, assuming that the actual building is considered to be structurally joined to Shuster hall. Technically they are the same conjoined building, as the Crystal Hall was built as a extension to the original building.

In any case, I was asking which name can be used for the cafeteria. When absinthe uses it, she refers to it in the following way:

As I sat at what had become my normal table in Crystal Hall...

As well as:

As we were leaving the table though, I suddenly noticed Caitlin. She was standing halfway across Crystal Hall...

And:

Crystal Hall was busy, just like it always was during the lunch rush.

It seems that absinthe is reffering to the cafeteria, not thr building. However, other characters refer to it with a ‘the’ prefix. So is it a matter of character language, or has Morpheus just made some typos??

Neither. In English, both are correct. You could say, "I'm headed over to Crystal Hall, where are you guys going?" Or, "Gotta go, guys, the Crystal Hall is calling me!" Both could be used and are interchangeable.

Consider all of these possibilities:
1. First of all, IS the "Crystal Hall" name even official? Or is it just the nickname the students applied to it? Considering the known campus building naming policies, there's a high possibility that it's officially the "Schuster Hall cafeteria annex" or something like this.

(Out-of-universe, the central campus buildings are for the most part named after notable comics artists/writers. I bothered to check on who was the creator of Matter-Eater Lad, as a possible candidate for the official name of the caf... turns out the character was created by Jerry Siegel and John Forte. Problem: Siegel already has a building named after him, and Forte is... not that notable. But then, I remembered Blondie's Dagwood and his sandwiches... maybe the official name is the "Young cafeteria annex to Schuster Hall"?)

2. Even if the name is official, in casual conversation people will name it any way they want. Some will call it "Crystal Hall", some will call it The Crystal Hall, some will call it "the caff", some will even call it the "Crystal Dome" (I believe I have seen that form in a couple stories).
