  • Working on having my kids grilled for their starter MIDs, an I'm still working my way through Gen2, so it may have been covered: Are ther really any big changes to procedure from Gen 2 to 2?

Also, if people with better memories, point me at the canon interviews? I've read Jade's biometric and Cait's, but can't reme, ber where the others are.

  • Misty/ Superchick's MID interview was taped, and it's used in MCO training academies as a 'Don't Let This Happen to You' example

This would be an excellent microscene.

Has anyone tested her to find out if she has a "Confuse Person" power?

Also had a thought that it would probably be un-testable, due to it's nature, and what it would do to the testers... :cheer:

  • Not sure what you mean by MID Interviews. Some characters had power testing/MID issuance, most of the early characters just have them, or are issued in the background. Absinthe, Knockoff, and Ribbon get theirs in their first story. I think only Jade. Jinn, and Eldritch are shown in the 2006 stories, Anomaly in her first story.

  • It's canon that a large portion of the Whateley freshmen come to school without MIDs (there's even a special exception in the rules allowing that). Sometime in early November, the students are informed that they are required to have a MID if they want to come back to school after the Thanksgiving holiday. The MCO sets up a series of individual interviews to issue the MIDs. In 2006, there was an incident in which a number of students were illegally tagged with a "Deadly Force Authorized" flag in their MIDs. This attempted power play ended up backfiring spectacularly when the entire Berlin MCO office was arrested and the DFA began flexing its muscles again after years of letting the MCO do their job.

In addition, this caused backlash with other MCO offices around the country, with a crackdown on such things occurring. Such a crackdown is seen in the Kayada stories, where it appears that a procedure has been created to deal with such illegal acts. The procedure includes having the mutant's profile flagged for investigation and locked out to avoid evidence tampering.

See, I have read the bloody stories.

  • I seem to remember a scene in a story with a student with OCD - possibly Fractious? - who had the interviewer practically begging for mercy.

    Yep!

She tried not to look up as her MID appeared overhead on the screen.  She hated that photo.  She was wearing a pixie cut in the photo, but it didn’t do anything for the shape of her face, since it made her nose look even bigger.  It was just so much easier to care for a pixie cut.  She had worn her dark-brown, slightly-curly hair down past her shoulders for years, ever since she could remember, but her OCD had made her long hair just totally unmanageable.

She winced just looking at her MID.  She hadn’t been able to stop adding things to the lists.  She was pretty sure she was the only Whateley student the MCO representative had ever asked to stop writing more stuff down.

  • You have the right to remain silent.
    You just lack the capacity

I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

It was a NYPD detective in 'Saks and Violence'

When we found Misty, Garfield asked the detective grilling her, “Did you get her to talk?”

aaahhh… YEAH,” the detective said with a croggled look on his face.

    “What did she say?”

“I have NO idea…” the detective said as he leafed through at least fifty pages of notes.
