  • I'm planning for a later story to send my characters to Home Montana to visit a branch of the family tree they wheren't aware of, and a I was making my notes I had the question: can you have GSD and other then that be powers free? Like born with scale and then nothing, not even Exemplar 1.

  • I'm pretty sure that the answer to that is "yes." There might even be a couple of those at Whateley.
Consider also that some forms of GSD might be considered "powers" in their own right. For instance, breathing underwater.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

  • There are people alive today that would be considered GSD cases.

  • That might be an interesting angle to explore. How do baseline people with the same sorts of deformities that afflict humans in real life fare against anti-mutant sentiment? Might such people be forced as well to relocate to places like Home?

  • It's something I always wondered about in Marvel Comics, the whole anti-mutant hysteria, how more "mainstream" mutations are considered. Would a sentinel try to kill an Albino or a polydactyl? What makes a mutation a MUTATION?

What happens when an ignorant H1 member goes after someone with dwarfism, or progeria, or heck, bad noticeable psoriasis?
    What is the dividing line?

I remember a Fantastic Four where Reed Richards was testifying before Congress. During the testimony he pulled out his "mutant detector." Everyone set it off. As they left Sue noted, "I see you have that on its finest setting." Or something like that.

That is an angle I hadn't considered. Might throw that in.
