  • This question was so much clearer in my head... but do spirits behave like their animal counterparts and have issues entering another similar spirit's range? Drop Bear entering Kodiack's range comes to mind.

I am a caffeine heathen; I prefer the waters of the mountain over the juice of the bean. Keep the Dews coming and no one will be hurt.

  • Actually, that's two questions:
First, spirits do reflect some aspect of the animal, plant, formation or phenomenon that's image they assume. This is called The Rule of Role, which is a subset of the Law of Definition: Bears do not grow leaves, badgers don't gather honey, and turtles don't perch on wires and poop on people's hats.

Second, spirits can enter, and even make a home, in another spirit's domain. BUT, they either have to acknowledge that the other spirit is the Master of that Domain, or they have to challenge said spirit for mastery. It can get very involved and nasty. Dropbear would have a hard time entering Kodiak's domain without express permission; it's home is Down Under, not North America. And while Drop Bear is a lot nastier than he looks, he still isn't a shade on Kodiak.

  • Thank Bek, that cleared that up nicely for me.

Somewhere there's a spirit saying "Hold my beer."
