  • How early in the morning is 'late enough' by security's definition for students to be out in the morning as 3 in the morning is to early?

There are morning classes that start at 0545, so being out and about aboveground before 0530 is worth looking into. Students with reversed or otherwise screwed up sleep schedules (Eldritch, Timeless) are likely few enough to be on a list.

Most of the overnight classes are probably held in the tunnel system, except for astronomy-related classes, and the observatory is very easy to keep track of.

  • Tennyo was known to eat breakfast before her early flight class, so I imagine 5 AM is probably the norm.

Exceptions are also the norm. Some magic classes were held at night. Security would likely be given a class roster. Although random wandering around would be frowned upon.

  • Anyone 'approved' to be out after hours is likely to be on a list updated by the House Parents. Come down, can't sleep and go for a walk? You have to go by the front and either the Parent or one of the student RA's is going to see you. And its very likely that that list is electronic and accessible to security. People who do so regularly for early/late classes will be on a more permanent list. People on neither list... are likely first have security contact the Cottage and then get called into the Security office. Likely before the officer even talks to the student.

Mostly, that's probably 11 to 5... with things ramping up to 'it is late, why are you out here' between 9 and 11... and cooling down from 5 to 7. Those two, two hour periods aren't going to be as heavily watched... but they're still going to be abnormal enough for people to be out of the cottages that it will probably get noted, even if the officer doesn't say anything to the kid.
