  • Ok WA!!! Now, the WARP-G team for the Whateley Academy Role Play Game is a closed group. This isn't to restict it- any registered member can contribute- however, the group needs to state their intention to work with the team before posting. This section of the forum will eventually act as a playtest feedback area, allowing people to give feedback on the game, but at the present time, this section of the forum will instead act as a discussion area for the writing team. I'm only going to give the link to the google-doc I'm creating for the creation of the RPG by PM, as I don't want someone to follow the link and grief the work. Google docs uses a 'if you give the link and open editing permissions, anyone with a google account and the link can wreak havoc' system. I renember that my brother's class had a incident where the teacher gave everyone access to a editable google doc, and everyone just deleted other people's work in real time. So, only volunteers to the WARPG project will be given the link. You will need to apply via PM to me with the following info:

    - Your username on this site (provided via the messaging system, so no manual entering needed).

    - Your google account name (if you don't already have one, create your account BEFORE sending the PM, it makes handling the documentation a lot easier for me. this is meant so that I can moderate things on the doc. Moderation will be discussed in more depth later in this post)

    - Any willingly given alternative contact details (Optional, but allows off-site collaberation and discussion. Emails will be shared with other members if permission is given. My email (for everyone to see) is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You may choose to not give a emial, or give one but not have it shared with the team members. Phone numbers are completely off the table, as are other real-world info.)

That's all you need to give. Now, there are some conditions for joining the team. First, a agreement that you will not intentionally mess with another person's work, or with the group's own work. This is a collaboration based on trust. If you prove I cannot trust you, and the team cannot either, your editing permissions will be revoked, and you will be off the project. If you get into a edit war with another person, all involved parties will be blocked from the project for a indeterminate length of time, after which I will send you a email or PM asking whether you are ready to return to the project and behave nicely. In addition, all the normal rules of this site apply to the project. As it is going to be the dual property of both this site and the authors involved, you will have to go by the site conduct rules while writing. Finally, remember this is a team project. If you disagree with a edit, or want to make a drastic change to the RPG, consult as many of the group members that you can reach, and get their approval on the changes. Include what you want to change/add/remove, and suggestions on how to fix or write the replacement stuff. Thanks guys. Below is a list of recommended pre-reading for the project. I would suggest accessing these RPG manuals and guidebooks in whatever way possible, even if it's during the course of the project. After getting knuckle rapped by Kristin, I'm going to suggest you get it legally and not illicitly, but that's really up to you.

    - Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Players Manual & Dungeon Masters Guide

    - Shadowrun 4th & 5th Edition Core rulebook (in the case of the 4th edition one, I suggest finding the 20th anniversary Edition, as it has greatly improved balance and gameplay rules)

    - Some stories from this site (well, that's obviously been done by everyone here. I mean, why else would you be here???)

    - RWBY the Unofficial RPG (really good example of a fan-made RPG that was really well done, and commended by the makers of RWBY, Rooster Teeth)

    - Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader, Only War and Dark Heresy RPG guidebooks by FASA

    - Pathfinder RPG core rulebook

    - Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition Hero's Handbook

In terms of any other media, that's all up to you. Anyway, please keep chatter to a minimum in this post, and PM me with any questions you may want to ask. Thanks!!!
