Question Endgame Theories

Now, this doesn't mean that all of our characters have to end their tales there. But eventually (not accounting for a '999.999.M41 style story freeze like Games Workshop had been doing up until 8th Edition, with every event happening in the last few months/days of the last year of the 41st millennium, and literally no timeframe advances) the 4 years that our Gen 1 characters have at Whateley will dry up, and there will have to be some send-off for these characters that have become so treasured to us. Sure, they could extend it and do everything leading up to Gen 2, and then transfer the adult Gen 1 characters to Gen 2, but let's leave that out for now.
The big thing is: what is the endgame for this universe? This is a question that not even the authors can answer (as stated in the Crystal Con event last weekend). They don't know, and we don't know. However, we can make assumptions based on what we do know right now:
- It will probably involve Hekate's Master (if that arc is not resolved before the conclusion of Gen 1)
- There will probably be quite a few fatalities (there is no drama if there is no threat)
- There will be some degree of payoff for the unresolved story lines (Obviously)
- Between now and then, we're going to see (if at all) the resolving of the GEO story arc, the return of Sara to Whateley from imprisonment, payoff for the arcs directly relating to the global narrative arc/s, major global changes as the precursor technologies to the VI's, AI's and other such things in Gen 2 emerge in a more public fashion (though that COULD be segued into the gap between the end of Gen 1 (which will see the Kimbas graduating in 2009, and the current freshmen graduating in 2010, so that leaves 6 years between the graduation of our current cast and the start of Gen 2 to get the ball rolling, excluding any new character in gen 1 added in the 4 years before the class of 2009 graduate, and any others added while the newer characters are still graduating, therefore stretching the end year of Gen 1 to either 2014 or 2015 (all the other characters added who hadn't graduated by this time would probably be ones we know from Gen 2, and wouldn't get their stories fully extrapolated on in Late Gen 1)
So a lot can happen and a lot can easily change between now and when the Kimbas Graduate in 2009. BUT: We can theorise several things that might happen:
- An Avengers-style assembling of all the characters we know in Gen 1 for a final battle. The coda to what was started in the very beginning of this universe. Possibly tied into the antagonists in the Bastard, Hekate's Master, and other villains who've been set up as global antagonists.
- A quiet graduation with not-so-quiet celebration
- Rocks fall; everyone in gen 1 not in gen 2 dies
- Everyone has a massive orgy
- Everyone doesn't have a massive orgy
- The cast of Gen 1 ride off into the sunset on horseback. Titles show as they disappear into the distance.
- The cast of Gen 1 travel back in time and father/mother themselves or their own parents.
- None of the above

- The Bastard
- Uhncegila and other creatures related
- The Necromancer
- Nimbus/Hekate's Master
How are they related, exactly? It's unclear. The Necromancer has dealings with Nimbus, but they don't seem to be acting in concert -- more like sporadic allies. Uhncegila appears to have come back as a consequence of Wakan Tanka coming back, which by turn appears to have been precipitated by the Bastard's growing power.
I think the progression in level bosses is going to be:
1. Uhncegila's creatures
2. The Necromancer
3. Nimbus
4. The Bastard as final boss.
Although I might be mistaken, and Nimbus turn out to be the one pulling the strings behind the Bastard all the time. Which would make the Bastard the penultimate miniboss, and Nimbus the final boss.
(Uhncegila himself might be considered as a "bonus level", since we do know his final fate from "The Last one to Leave...")

In my scenario, I sorta assumed that Kigatillik (5) went with the other "Uhncegila creatures" -- Uhn was the one who called Kigatillik, after all. A miniboss.ebony841 wrote: Unheceilia is dealt with in Gen 2.

The others are either recurring villains who might even still be around for Gen2 (1, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10), or personal quests/enemies of one character or group of characters (2, 3, 8 ) -- not really "big endgame" stuff. Yes, they will have to be dealt with, either temporarily (so they can come back in Gen2) or permanently (ending the character's personal quest, either freeing them for the Big Finale or taking the character out of the game in some way)

The big difference, is Uhncegila has always been there, as part of The People's lore. Kigatillik has been for a long time, but was apparently created by The Bastard for the sole purpose of hunting them down, because The Bastard was getting annoyed at how effective shaman are against him.Sir Lee wrote: In my scenario, I sorta assumed that Kigatillik (5) went with the other "Uhncegila creatures" -- Uhn was the one who called Kigatillik, after all.
