Horace Bishop and they got 'Shine to come and help with the fermenting process for the cocoa beans, nice to see 'Shine all grown up. Coffee-liqueur, only 'Shine would think of that. And Mrs. Carson had it confiscated, rats.

"Think about it. All the caffeine stimulant of devisor coffee with the sedating effect of alcohol. They say the revelers were alternatin' 'tween bouncin' off walls and lyin' around near sleepin'." Shine finished installing a part.

Aww, Horace likes Lori, cute. And yikes about 'Shine's advice on keeping her away from his part of the country. Taste test, sometimes the best part of making food. All that to just to ferment the cacao beans, very glad they have 'Shine there to help them out and speed up the process a lot. Cool design for the dryer-roaster, and yes, I can't wait until they can taste the finished chocolate. Mmm, chocolate.

Hehe, I love when Laura is in a happy mood like this, like a ray of blue sunshine to brighten up the day.

"If she were striped yellow and orange instead of blue, we'd have to describe her as 'bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun - fun - fun - fun - fun!" Morgana noted sarcastically. She saw the slightly confused looks, especially on Koichi and Taka's faces. "Oh, good grief! You mean you've never heard the Tigger song from Winnie the Pooh?"

Winnie the Pooh reference, such good, wholesome fun. Yay! Good progress on all her projects, but good grief, her friends sure do ask a lot. Tavi wanting drones of his own, Tanya talking about the car.

Laura grinned. "If I remember right, she has a weakness for chocolate, so when the test batches are done, if we let her know that she doesn't get any unless she's with us ...."

"You can't do that! That's extortion!" Jimmy interrupted.

Bianca looked coolly across the table. "Actually, it's not. It's just ... if she wants family privileges, she needs to act like part of the family."

Bianca's right on this one, not extortion.

Laura having to leave Horace and Lori to monitor the progress on their chocolate to work on the neural neutralizer and Morgana's PFG, it will give Horace a chance to spend time with Lori alone. Another machine to press out the cocoa butter, the more I learn about the process of making chocolate the more I realize how complicated one of my favorite sweets is to make. The amount of research for all this, Elrod, you have gone above and beyond.

Ow, my head is spinning after reading everything Laura has to do just for some of these projects, she is going to work herself to exhaustion at this rate. Roadie for the band and repairing the sound system too, ack! And all this to create Morgana's PFG, with the way PFGs were talked about in previous stories they seemed less complex, now though it seems a lot of the work was done in the background because this is a lot of work. And a plasma torpedo system on top of it, I'm worried Laura is going to push herself too much.

Morgana shows up at Horace's lab with a packaged meal for Laura, not showing up for dinner, she is definitely working too much. Ooo, dinner for Lori and Horace too, Morgana must be the most welcome non-techie student on the Workshop. Morgana recognizing what they are working on as starting out as an oil press, guess few know she worked in a lab as an intern before her transformation. Lori and Morgana teasing Laura like that, hehehe.

Mrs. Cody and Dr. Barton showing up, I wonder what they have to discuss with Laura. Fabricating parts for Vanessa's car, well this is happening sooner than expected. Ouch, on the spot to get this done when she is already under pressure for two projects, plus stuff for friends, plus the chocolate project, plus the band's sound system. Now discussion with legal about two different patents, oh boy.

"With a cover letter from Prime Minister Abe, no less. Actually, two patents. The first as a non-lethal self-defense weapon, and the other as a medical treatment device for seizures. And there's a request from an old acquaintance to license the technology." Mrs. Cody shook her head. "Since you invented it before you got to Whateley, the legal department really shouldn't be involved, but I persuaded them to give you advice."

Ow, why do I feel a big headache coming on when dealing with legal? Morgana has a very good point, never know when dealing with a lawyer.

Mrs. Cody shook her head, rolling her eyes at Morgana's comment. At the same time, it was good that Laura had such a friend. "The lawyers at Whateley are as protective of the students as the faculty. They are paid a salary, not a commission, so they would get no benefit from taking advantage of the students."

Nice to know about the lawyers at Whateley, new detail learned.

A letter for Laura being delivered by an annoyed Hikaru, what now. About the matter Mrs. Cody and Dr. Barton already talked to Laura about and Hikaru is offended she didn't get to deliver it first, *sigh*

"Japan's laws, however, are a bit tricky, and Japan's corporations, I have to admit, play a bit fast and loose with intellectual property laws. Even if you patent in Japan, without strong legal representation or a strong agreement with one of the corporations in Japan, it isn't unheard of for... shall we say foreign patent-holders to be simply ignored in Japan. The same is true for foreign issued patents. It was felt that if I assisted you, in this minor manner, you would ..."

Ugh, now I see why Hikaru was sent, she could be ripped out and due to the way Japan treats foreign patent-holders have no legal way to fight back.

"Laura," Mrs. Cody said calmly, "from what Ah know of patent issues and intellectual property in Japan, Ah think you should listen to what Hikaru is telling you." She shrugged with a faint smile. "It's a legal, diplomatic thing, and that's well beyond mah expertise. After all, the best diplomat Ah know ...."

"... is a fully-charged phaser bank," Laura completed the quote with her own reference, even if it wasn't the one Mrs. Cody started.

"Nerd-girl!" Morgana chuckled.

Laura spun to face her. "You can't tell me you weren't thinking the same thing!" she accused.

Mrs. Cody laughed aloud, a pleasant, warm, friendly sound. "Since you finished mah quote, that makes three of us!"

I love a good Star Trek reference. And this whole situation with legal got a lot more complex, didn't it. Boy, when two gadgeteers get going discussing something technical they can just keep chatting with noticing the time, huh. And going through what Morgana and Ceri did, no wonder she is anti-lawyer. Aww, Horace and Lori are so cute, I hope they get over their shyness and one asks the other out soon.

Oh brother, all of them so worried the chocolate will taste bad after all their work they are afraid to even taste it to find out. With the way Laura is reacting to the taste of that chocolate, it is some of the best, if not the best, tasting ever made. Ah, the temptation to oversample the product instead of finishing it, just like cookie dough. Hehe, love how Lori licked the chocolate off Horace's face, poor, confused boy.

Bit chalky, potato ricer, excellent idea and I'm surprised I've never heard of a potato ricer before now. *drools* All those ideas for chocolate flavors.

The biodeviser's labs having that level of security on the door leading into them, after what we've seen Jobe alone do I can believe it needs that level of security and more.

"This," Horace said, turning from a computer display on one end of one rack, "is the bio-compatibility testing and verification facility." He gestured Laura toward him, and she obliged, then followed his gesture to look between two racks so she could see its contents. "Each rack has over two hundred thousand test cells, each divided into a control and a test sample. The test cells contain a wide variety of genotypes of human cells, including ever major bodily system and organ, representing a pretty complete spectrum of people."

*eyes nearly fall out of sockets from bugging out* Okay, that is some serious experimenting going on in there. 2 and a half hours to test two hundred thousand samples, just how powerful of a computer are they using for this?

"For two hundred thousand samples?" Laura shook her head in disbelief. "I've never heard of the FDA using anything like this."

"They won't touch it. They're afraid the test rig is a devise and wouldn't get proper test results, even though it's so good that Whateley's labs have identified several dozen reactions that were missed in the 'proper' drug trials." He shook his head with disgust. "Oh, and speaking of that, various test chambers include chemicals from foods and a lot of medicines and drugs."

I wish this existed in our world and the FDA was forced to use it, so many dangerous reactions to drugs could be discovered before having a chance to go on the market. And the cloning 'farm', everything, to make this work, impressive doesn't cover it.

Yay! They can sell the chocolate.

"Can't yet. Our results have to be replicated by three independent Whateley testers just to make sure we don't game the system. And they'll almost certainly use different lots of tissue samples, so there might be an anomaly or two to resolve. But it should be done sometime tomorrow."

Rats, delay on unleashing the most delicious chocolate the world has ever known.

Laura working on a project in the dorm room, actually in the dorm before midnight, whoa. Laura already has designs for the plasma torpedos and launcher, she works fast.

"They won't let me test it live until the CFD results get an estimate of the safety margin on the plasma trap," Laura grumbled. "The basic PFG power supply is ready to go."

"So ... later this week?"

"Probably. I might have to tweak the plasma pump, but I'm confident that the computer runs will verify my design." Laura shrugged. "The torpedo design is mostly done, I think."

Sometimes I forget what gadgeteers and devisors can do in a short amount of time compared to even whole labs of scientists and engineers.

Why does the assistant headmaster wish to see Laura so early in the morning? Crud, Laura is that behind schedule on the neural neutralizer, very not good. Laura escorted, taken to the conference room in Kane Hall where Dr. Turner, Hikaru, Koichi, and two Japanese people are waiting, Asami Nishimura, and Yousuke Nakano.

Hikaru spoke, sounding quite formal. <Laura-san is being very conscientious to make sure that her invention is safe and effective. She would be very distraught if an error on her part caused harm to the girl.>

Thank you, Hikaru, for knowing your way so well around Japanese etiquette. Oh, good. Hikaru and Mr. Turner going to review the patent paperwork first before Laura has to sign anything, always smart. Koichi and Asami going with Laura to her labs wonder what they will think of the Workshop.

Darn, Laura has to have lunch with the Japanese guests, part of a lesson in business etiquette, when she wishes to be with her friends. *blinks* That is the only difference between the staff dining area and students, they can have the staff plate their food for visual appeal, I always thought they got better stuff than the students this whole time.

Business manners, good grief, Laura is being thrown into the deep end. Laura blushing from all the compliments, we need a drawing of Laura blushing!

"Mild?" Laura had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. "Why do I have the feeling that I'm going to make a total mess of the trip?" She sighed heavily. "Maybe I can take some chocolate to bribe them to overlook my social mistakes."

You would have to lack a sweet tooth not to like that chocolate, Laura has a good idea.

Jimmy checking out the Secret Squirrels, and there's a problem, those two things together could be disastrous. And the reveal to the group someone is watching Laura closely, how much trouble will this cause. The SS think Laura is Spinel's daughter just because of her GSD coloring being the same or similar, that is some weak evidence at best. Whoa, Spinel, I can understand why she went villain and has a hate-on for men, trauma like that can mess you up.

"I get the distinct impression that a couple of the older members know that's not true but are using it as a cover - which might indicate that there's some outside party using the Squirrels to do their spy work. Moreover, our table is bugged - again; I've heard part of one of the recordings. That's why I wanted to talk out here. From the conversations I've overheard in the clubhouse, Laura may be bugged, too."

Somehow, someway, they need to figure out a way to detect these bugs and stop this already. And they've figured out the message that was sent with the attack on the thief of Laura's stuff, smart kids. Ouch, bad joke, Bailey, bad. And Jimmy having to stay in the Squirrels to get information, that's rough.

Weird day for Laura, dealing with all that business etiquette and such must have been hard.

Laura gave her another disapproving look, then continued. "And then, after that very pleasant experience, I got to visit the Assistant Headmaster's office where I got royally reamed for my role in yesterday's little catastrophe." She shook her head unhappily. "Talk about an emotionally roller-coaster of a day!"

Ooo, this is the day after the PFG test where Morgana's fire magic flared badly, how could Laura know how Morgana would react. Yes, please go with the chili-chocolate, mint, bleaugh.

Ouch, Morgana was in this bad of shape she didn't want chocolate, this scene alone would have a major sign something is seriously wrong. Punk Pink Penguin Chocolate, shoot, I would buy some out of sheer curiosity alone because of the brand name. And all those names they went through, you never realize how hard a brand name which isn't it in use is until you try to come up with one. Koichi's drawing for the label is just too perfect for the visual I have in my mind when I read Punk Pink Penguin.

Dalton Li, no making Laura feel embarrassed about being late, she has a lot on her plate right now. $150 each for the music festival, those guys didn't think about the gadgeteer who is working on their sound system for free when this came up. Laura can't afford to go, is very upset about it, but doesn't want to take money from others either, darn it. A loan from Hikura and pay her back from the profits from the chocolates, with the agents protecting Laura and her interests this could work.

That is a huge increase in security for the chocolate lab, guess it is extremely valuable.

"Four or five thousand dollars," Lori replied, "based on twenty dollars a pound. That's what we figured from what I found about the value of chocolate."

Laura's eyebrows rose. "Hikaru said ultra-premium chocolate is sixty to eighty dollars a pound."

I'm thinking this chocolate is 100 dollars a pound at least. More pods from the cacao trees, this could be a multi-million dollar business potentially.

Cocoa butter for cosmetics, this Marsha Fuller just brought them in more money for this enterprise. Horace doesn't like the label design, probably thinks it's too "girly", oh well. Ah, afraid of being teased about it by the other guys, should care more about what your girlfriend thinks.

Asking Laura what's in the bag right off, no hello, how are you.

Jimmy's almost-always-present virtual assistant popped into being beside its owner. "Tavi can do informal chit-chat!" it said excitedly. "How are you?" he said as he jumped to Laura's tray, sitting on one slightly-upraised edge of the plastic. "How are projects going? Busy? Classes okay? What project do you work on today?"

Jimmy rolled his eyes. "Tavi!" he barked at the little semi-autonomous VI.

Laura chuckled. "At least Tavi knows how to engage in polite conversation!" she countered.

Tavi is too cute for his own good sometimes. Tavi as Punk Pink Penguin, adorable how he freaks out upon learning she is a girl and doesn't wish to be a girl himself. Huh, didn't know white chocolate was made from the cocoa butter, learning a lot of things from this story. Mocha-chocolate, just don't use devisor coffee, we don't want people bouncing off the walls.

Morgana doesn't want chocolate again, get her to Doyle now! Sample tasting with the Japanese students now, Sumika Miura translating for Laura. The girls begging and pleading for extra samples, Laura said this was the best chocolate she has ever tasted, she doesn't realize it is probably the best chocolate in the world.

3-D embossing into the chocolate molds, Koichi's references to coin is perfect, sounds like a coin engraving level of detail, smart. And the internet is no help, have to watch out for bad translation software. Koichi finds a site with stuff that will work, but in Japanese, oh boy. It may have taken them a while, but they got it done, glad to see their hard work working out.

Well, that last part was fast, I guess the rest of it was harder due to unfamiliarity. Yay! Start selling chocolate by tomorrow, I hope there isn't any fighting over it.

Wed, October 12, 2016 - late evening

All the lab boys greeting Morgana, if they only knew they don't have a chance with her. Morgana passed on the coffee with the excuse she wouldn't be able to sleep, someone drag her to Doyle already! Yikes! This PFG literally is something only Morgana should be using. And one more 'wardrobe malfunction' and I think Mrs. Horton is going to give Morgana a long lecture.

Testing the PFG against all those things, this is going to be one versatile PFG.

Laura shut and latched the heavy door, then led Morgana to a control room. "Two different frequencies of lasers, low-power microwave emitter, and a pellet gun."

"What, no photon torpedoes?"

Laura rolled her eyes. "That's the lab next door," she answered dryly.

Laura's not joking, is she?

Wait, it takes that much for plasma containment to be near the threshold Laura set, just how much energy did it absorb from the laser and air rifle pellets in almost 10 minutes? Gah! And this is why you test things out before you use them, that could have been very bad. At least Laura knows what went wrong so she can adjust for it next time.

Bailey up late studying when Laura finally comes back to their dorm room, hazelnut chocolate for Bailey to try out, yum. Laura was seeing her girlfriend, and Toni took the chili-chocolates, rats, want to know what those are like. Aww, Laura, and Toni are cute.

"No, it's not like that! We weren't getting all 'handsy'!" She read her roommate's expression. "I think I'm having a little growth spurt. My bra has felt a little tight all day." She shrugged again. "I might have to go to the bookstore this weekend and get a new one." She stepped out of her panties and pulled on her nightie. "Not that I'm complaining," she added with a wicked smile. "I've been waiting for the titty-fairy to visit me so I'm not the smallest one on the floor!"

"Careful what you wish for," Bailey laughed. "You don't want the boob-fairy to make you go from the smallest boobs to the biggest! Not the way some of the exemplar upperclassmen girls are endowed! I don't think you could handle the attention," she added. "And your back would probably be killing you!"

Wild guess here, but the bio-devisor who originally made those cacao trees might have made it so they have higher levels of aromatase [which converts to estrogen in the body] in the chocolate made from them, thus any girl eating them regularly might be seeing such growth spurts.

Laura trying to get something to eat in-between selling chocolates with Lori. Kiyoko and Sumika inviting Laura to an anime movies tomorrow night, wonder which movies they have. Hehehe, Laura teasing Lori about spending time with Horace, Lori saying he isn't her boyfriend, just a lab partner, aww.

"He's not my boyfriend!" Lori countered, while the Japanese girls giggled at the exchange between the two American girls. "He's just ... a lab partner."

"Oh, okay," Laura shot back with a knowing nod. "So you two just experiment together?"

"Yes!" Lori replied quickly, then she paused, her mouth ajar, and reconsidered her words. "I mean, no! Not the way you're thinking!"

Laura has been spending too much time around Morgana I think.

Kiyoko and Sumika sure bought a lot of chocolate, this stuff is like a candy goldmine. Ah, family present...uh oh, now their family will want to know where to buy more, tell others about it, they are going to need a full-scale factory at this rate to keep up with demand. Fifteen dollars per candy bar, with how good that stuff is they could get away with triple the price easily.

Vic, Tanya, and Bianca a bit miffed at least that Laura hasn't been sitting with them at meals lately. But the chocolate business is booming, Sumika buying some more already, a whole line waiting to buy some, they need help, 3 people can't keep this up on their own for long with increasing demand. 'The Three Chocolateers', a cute name for their group.

And Bianca has noticed Laura's clothes are tight, don't tell me it isn't just her bust which is growing. Hikaru shows up for one of each type, I hope my theory about the source of Laura's growth spurt is wrong is a lot of the girls in school are going to be needing new clothes soon. Tanya a bit jealous of Laura's new growth spurt, and poor Vic embarrassed by all this, better get used to it with the group of friends you have, Vic.

Testing Ranges, Whateley Academy

A test of Laura's PFG at the high-energy range, this should be interesting. Tia, Bailey, Vic, Erica, Bianca, and Morgana all following Laura through the lab tunnels, kind of expensive to make, betting each of those PFGs would be around 50 to 100k.

It wasn't quite, but the door was almost four inches thick, layered steel and ceramic specially designed to absorb, ablate, or deflect energy and projectile impacts. It was an ominous sign of the type of testing done in the range.

And I would be at least 100 feet away from that door unless I was doing testing inside that area, just in case.

Caitlin is the one running the test, goodie, this will be fun with the commentary.

"Everyone, scan in on the reader by the door." She waited until the group complied. "That will be necessary on every range so we can keep track of who is using the ranges - in case ...."

Is this an upgrade to the ranges security measures or just something which wasn't mentioned before?

Love the simple summary of the rules, so surprising how many places safety rules boil down to that.

"Mrs. Cody helped me with a set of test procedures," she said, handing the sheets to the range-master.

Ms. Bardue's eyebrow rose incrementally. It wasn't often that students, let alone freshmen students, had a thorough set of test procedures and objectives prepared for a test. Most just tried to wing it which often resulted in useless data.

A set of test procedures for something like this seems like common sense to me, heh. Fifty-caliber rounds stopped even with the amount of energy the generator consumes is highly impressive.

Caitlin's eyebrows shot up when her panel lit up some red warning lights. "What are you shooting out of that thing? I thought this was a defensive system!"

Laura flinched at the range-master's surprised and unhappy tone of voice. "It's in the procedures - I have to vent out excess plasma energy or the power system will overload, possibly exploding!"

"What are you shooting?" Caitlin demanded again.

"It's superheated plasma in a magnetic confinement ball, shot out of an EM launcher."

"Superheated plasma? Magnetic confinement?" Caitlin gawked at the blue girl. "Like they use in experimental fusion reactors?"

"No!" Laura rebutted, then one eye narrowed as she got a thoughtful expression. ""Maybe if I augmented the magnetic core with a concentric superconducting toroid, I could use the plasma energy in one core to generate a current which would increase the magnetic confinement in the other core ... and if I used deuterium or tritium to generate the plasma, maybe ...."

"You are NOT going to test a miniature thermonuclear weapon on my ranges!" Caitlin barked, having recognized the sign of a gadgeteer or devisor mentally shifting into 'big idea' mode and having heard enough key words that she had a strong inkling of what Laura was contemplating. "Understand?"

Gadgeteers and devisors in 'big idea' mode can come up with some truly terrifying things.

Darn, still has the issue with venting hot plasma inside the shield. Testing the PFG against heat energy and Morgana is the source, eep. Crap! The incident which Mr. Turner was reading the riot act to Laura about wasn't the one with Morgana and the PFG, I misremembered. This is that incident, no wonder Morgana has been in such bad shape with what is happening to her.

Saturday, October 16, 2016 - Evening

Ouch, Morgana was badly injured and Laura being questioned, now in tears over the whole ordeal. Mrs. Cody comes to comfort Laura, assuring her accidents happen, and asks if she is hungry. I hope she isn't just saying she isn't hungry due to all the stress, no good will come from starving herself.

Mrs. Cody chuckled. "This isn't a formal board of inquiry or a hunt for a scapegoat. We're trying to find out precisely what happened so we can make sure it doesn't happen again." She stood and offered a hand to Laura. "Let's go inside so you can listen to what we've found so far."

Well, I hope that at least will ease Laura's mind a little.

*eyes bug out* Crap, Morgana started to burnout and it triggered the PFG's plasma venting. The burnout happening because she was helping out Laura with her PFG probably saved Morgana's life, dang.

"Your inventions are objects. They have no inherent evil or malice. It's the person using the tool that makes actions good or bad. Does that make sense?"

Laura nodded slowly. "But it doesn't make it feel any better."

At least she got the message, some won't.

Nate Gibbs up late watching the GamingGeek channel on his computer and keeping his roommate up, good grief. Steve Leonard, wonder what these two have for powers. Nate goes to the showers and comes back, Steve noticing something different about him, Nate says he has man-boobs because of his weight and wishes Steve knew what it was like to have them. And they are both eating a lot of Punk Pink Penguin chocolate bars, oh boy.

Asami Nishimura visiting her parents for a week after delivering Laura's Neural Neutralizer, going to bed and her clothes feel small such as her bra, I knew this was going to happen. Her breasts have swollen to a large C or D cup, this is bad.

Asami knew she was going to have to visit a doctor; this type of growth could mean a tumor or other serious problem. Smart move, Jimmy. No telling how far these changes can go and if they are temporary or not yet.

Tanya thinks it would have affected them too thanks to all the samples Laura has give them.

"It'd be funny if the chocolate was causing her ... growth, though," Bailey snickered. "The way she's been eating samples, she'd probably end up a J cup, or bigger!"

The nurse paused. "Two in one day? Do you suppose this is more than a coincidence?"

The doctor thought a moment. "I doubt it. Not with two cases. We have hundreds of pubescent boys, and the condition occurs in an estimated fifteen to twenty percent of boys."

"But growing that fast?" the nurse continued her questions.

"That is a bit unusual," the doctor agreed. "More like gestational macromastia than typical gynecomastia. But not unheard of." He shrugged. "Between the blood work and the mammogram, we'll find out if there's something unusual with Mr. Vaughn."

Oh, so they can grow that fast. I just hope the blood work turns up something.

People still buying the chocolate, no one made the connection yet between the breast growth and Punk Pink Penguin chocolate. Laura trying in vain to hide her new bust, Lori making more chocolate, and Horace seems to have developed a bit of a bust as well, but hiding it better.

Many of the boys in line likewise had baggy jackets or sweaters, and their demeanor seemed rather subdued, although that mood clearly didn't affect their appetite for the tasty confection - candy bars were selling even better than they had on Sunday or the morning's breakfast.

Now I have to question if the subdued demeanors are due to hiding their own breast growth or if the chocolate is affecting their hormone levels and making them less aggressive.

Peter Ruoho ogling Laura's chest, buying chocolate for himself and his date, idiot is hitting on Laura with that cheap line.

As Laura gave him change for his selection of eight candy-bars, she noticed that even though his shirt was hanging loosely, as if it was a couple of sizes too big, just under his armpits the fabric was bunched, like the shirt was trying to accommodate a bulged chest by gathering into unintentional darts. Just like a girl's shirt.

Please let Laura figure out the connection to the chocolate and end this already before any permanent damage is done if it hasn't already been.

The campus store had always been a surprise to new students; while there was a modest building above ground, such as one would expect for a normal school bookstore, the main part of the store was in subterranean levels that were in fact quite enormous, with as much shelf space as a typical American big box store. This included departments for boys' and girls' clothing, since students were not often allowed into Berlin to shop.

Whoa, so that is where all the clothing is kept, I always wondered how a store the size which the surface building is described as could hold everything it is supposed to have. Carwyn Llywelyn having to tell all those girls they are out of bras with larger cup sizes, warning, warning, danger! Mrs. Jennings is a smart woman, the girls there right now probably make up only a fraction of those who are going to be needing bigger bras.

Guys locking themselves in their dorm rooms or hiding out in the labs, all due to breast growth. And both boys and girls affected.

"Biodevisors again? Or some chemical devisor?" Mrs. Dunne speculated. "Okay, I'm going to talk to administration. You guys check with your charges and let's get a very accurate list of who's all affected."

Mr. Mazarin marches into the administrative conference room, some of the Doyle staff already seated, Robert Turner, Elaine Claire there as well. All those people there, this is a huge issue.

Samantha Quinn and Allison Pierce noted a large number of mammograms being done. 26 diagnosed cases so far, how many of the students bought that chocolate? Houseparents reporting basically the same thing, funny how reports coming in at different times can cause you to miss a noticeable pattern. So at least 20 boys unaccounted for so far, the campus store reporting on the larger bra sales.

And no closer to figuring out the common link or cause yet.

The doctor spoke again. "Until we identify the cause, we don't know how it affects students, or how it spreads. Some students may have been exposed but have no symptoms. Some may have minor symptoms. Some may self-resolve, some may stop growing, some may continue to grow." Wearing a grim expression, he shook his head. "We just don't know."

Dr. Rascomb suffers paints a grim situation. Crap, so many variables are involved, and adding in a devisor ramps that up. A boring day at Whateley would be like a sane day in politics.

Dr. Alex Jasonic has something I want, a waterproof tablet for reading. Most of the girls in the class not getting in to do laps for swim class, poor kids. And some of the boys as well, one sent over to ask if they can go to Doyle.

"You guys don't look sick! Get those shirts off and get in the water!" he sternly commanded the group on the bleachers.

Okay, I don't like him, many illnesses can have no outward signs at first before getting worse.

At least once they started to take their shirts off he told them to stop, close one. Going to call someone, the boys wondering and worrying who will be sent. Sports bras for them with their tee-shirts on so they can still swim, *facepalms* T-shirts today, but starting tomorrow proper swimwear which means girl's bikini tops for them, the hits just keep on coming. Girls can be so cruel when given a chance, these boys aren't going to forget any of this later on.

Mazarin's eyebrows shot up, which Mrs. Hollingsberry, the white-haired grandmotherly representative houseparent from Whitman Cottage, noticed. "Dr. Mazarin," she said in her plain, blunt, down-home way, "if you were a young lady of average or slight ... proportions on a campus full of exemplars, would you complain about or report an unexpected bonus?"

Teenage girls, though with how Laura reacted you think she would have reported it by now.

"It could be some devise, like a ... well, this is going to sound cliché or trite," Mr. Bumsfeld represented the devisor technology labs, "like a 'boob ray'." He saw the looks of disbelief and heard a few soft snickers. "I'm serious," he added sternly. "Every few years, some devisor decides to make one, and unfortunately occasionally with some degree of success."

A school full of hormonal teenage boys and not a few lesbian girls who are devisors, of course such a creation is common enough for a nickname.

"Well, there's the problem. In some cases, the biopsies show significantly higher numbers of normal-sized fat cells, which might indicate some degree of permanence," Dr. Ophelia Tenant, also from Doyle, reported. "We've also seen a couple of cases where the permanent breast tissue is showing development, although we don't know if this is from normal maturation or an effect of this ... condition."

"Translated?" Turner asked.

"We don't know if those affected by this syndrome are going to develop true mature breasts, and quite rapidly. If that happens, it will happen on male patients, too, since they have undeveloped lobes and milk ducts. We do know that if the fat cells multiply, it could lead to permanent enlargement. Our best guess is that if gets that far, it may take surgical correction."

So they need to figure out how to reverse this fast or surgical correction will be needed, what has been unleashed? And everyone affected, boys and girls, need to wear proper bras immediately. This certainly is going to change things for a while at Whateley.

Mrs. Hollingsworth having to be blunt about it, told they will be provided at the school store.

Dr. Mazarin stood. "This is not optional. Under the terms of your enrollment," he said evenly, his expression and his voice reflection how serious he considered the situation, "the school is authorized to direct whatever action is deemed to be in your best interest. The medical staff has directed that the abnormal growth needs to be properly restrained to avoid further tissue damage. Therefore, it is so directed that, for all affected students, a bra is part of your school uniform." He stared down a couple of the objectors. "You will comply with this directive - be issued and wear a bra until the situation is resolved, or security will escort you to in-school detention for the duration." He looked around with a sharp, intimidating glare. "Do I make myself clear?"

Yeah, anyone foolish enough to argue with him at this point has no common sense. And spot-checks to make sure they are wearing their bras at random, smart.

"But it is possible," Bianca noted, speaking the uncomfortable truth. Laura simply nodded.

Good, she isn't in denial it could have caused this mess.

"Grown a bit, Laura?" Morgana joked, to which Laura didn't look up but blushed deeply. "Now if you have a bigger butt, you'd have a stunning figure!"

Laura didn't look up; if anything, she looked she was distressed by Morgana's comment, and the redhead noticed. "I was just teasing!" Morgana assured Laura. "Really, it looks good on you!"

Laura is going to need some counseling again, isn't she?

"Send her back to Doyle!" Vic chuckled. "They broke her appetite!"

Executive conference room for Laura, Lori, and Horace, uh oh. All those people gathered once more, at least Mrs. Horton and Mrs. Cody are there. All those devisor-based steps in making the chocolate, they should have known something was bound to go wrong.

Mrs. Cody piped up. "Yes, they did. With the required independent replication." She glanced at the nervous trio. "It turns out there is a very subtle fault in the computer program that controls test equipment. The tests are scanned microscopically against a control to identify any impacts. The microscanners use an auto-magnification feature to focus on features of potential interest. Unfortunately," she got a distasteful expression, "in certain conditions, the magnifications of the sample and the control can get out of synchronization. That could result in a false negative."

"And in this case it did," Bumsfeld noted. He tapped on his tablet, and two side-by-side samples were projected on the wall. At first glance, they looked virtually identical. "This is what the scanners examined on their first pass." He tapped again, and the image on one size changed so that the features on one sample appeared massive compared to the other. "This is the same scan taken with the auto-magnification error fixed."

All this due to a mistake by the testing machines, good grief.

All those variables, no wonder they didn't detect the chocolate as the culprit sooner. Bwahaha, Mazarin having to say Punk Pink Penguin chocolate, priceless. A warning not to retaliate against Laura, Lori, and Horace, plus a security team detail to watch over them, this is very serious. Biohazard vault for the chocolate, dang.

"Maximum security for the vault and labs working on an antidote?" Mrs. Cody asked. "All of the chemical and bio specialist in the labs, including students, are working to identify an antidote as the highest priority ...."

We can only hope there is an antidote or a lot of students are in for painful surgery in the future.

"Yes, I'm afraid so," Rascomb replied. "In one case, we noted that the enlarged cells have begun very rapid cell division, and there is rapid growth of the actual breast tissue. We don't have enough data to understand if this is a universal development. It may be this is a rare case. We don't know if discontinuing consumption of the chocolate will cause the growth to stop or not. We have a lot more testing that needs to be done. I would like to request that affected students be directed to comply with Doyle staff for any additional examinations we may deem necessary."

Yikes, still causing growth and no idea if it is limited to the one student or could affect all victims of the chocolate. A penalty for the students despite it being a flaw in the testing equipment, no matter how minor a penalty, is still too much. That is punishing them for something completely out of their control or knowledge, which could embitter them from dealing with the administration in the future.

Before they got to the escalator, the group was intercepted by Brita Baumann, Irina Tetchkova, and Trish Loyola, all known and outspoken man-hating members of the Amazons.

I can already see the way this will, go Brita, and they probably love that the guys are getting treated like eye candy for once.

Strangely, Brita grinned and wrapped Laura in a big hug. "Great job!" she enthused. "All those assholes get to find out what it's like to be eye candy for a change!"

Dr. Mazarin leaving for a fund-raising meeting in New York City, I hope some of the more bullheaded students don't try anything with Mr. Turner while he is away. Four with continued enlargement of the cells, oh boy. Ouch, those last two are probably going to need surgery.

"From a purely psychological perspective," interjected Dr. Betty Markham, one of the counselors on Doyle's staff, "the longer the time to resolve, the more 'issues' some of the boys are going to have." The murmuring of assent indicated her comment was obvious to most.

So this could get worse before it gets better, not good with the powers some of these students have.

Even saying it isn't the student's fault won't be enough for some of these guys, logic, and reason go out the window when they feel their masculinity threatened. *eyes bug out* Belphy made a devisor weight loss drug with those kinds of side-effects, that is scary. Bumsfeld and teams over the years improved it, made it work, and removed most of the side-effects, now that is impressive.

Turner gawked at the man. "You're telling me," he finally stammered, "that in order for the antidote to work without the subject going bat-crap crazy ...," he glanced at Dr. Markham and winced at her reaction to his poor choice of wording, "the subject has to stay mildly drunk?"

This point finally got Bumsfeld to flinch. "Um, not entirely. The drug should be absorbed or eliminated within a half hour of the dose, and the tests indicate that two or three doses, every four hours, will be sufficient, so a large sustained dose of alcohol won't be necessary. We won't have a lot of drunk students wandering around." He glanced at Dr. Rascomb, then back to Turner. "Of course, we're still working on that minor problem."

So either they take it and go crazy or drink alcohol, well there is a twist, a drug that requires you to drink alcohol with it.

"Either we give a bunch of students a small dose of alcohol under medical supervision," he said, "or we have a bunch of boys with boobs." He frowned. "Do we really have a choice?"

Not much of a choice when you put it like that. And I hope the testing machines are no longer having glitches that could cause issues detecting biocompatibility.

Wednesday, October 19, 2016 – Late Afternoon
Doyle Medical Center, Whateley Academy

Mr. Turner sure is in a rush to get somewhere in Doyle. Please let Dr. Rascomb have some good news.

"Headache, rash, slight tingling sensation on the extremities." He half-smiled. "Seven of the test group already show signs of size reduction."

Turner perked up. "Size reduction? With minimal side effects?"

Rascomb nodded, as did Dr. Gutierrez. "It's slow, but there is noticeable size reduction."

"And the alcohol?"

Dr. Gutierrez smirked. "It's low enough that five male and two female patients don't even seem to notice. One male got sleepy. One's telling all the dirty limericks and jokes he knows in a really bad English accent, while the last one has been regaling the staff with an off-key rendition of the 'Drunken Sailor' sea shanty!" She rolled her eyes. "Do you know there are more than twenty verses of that damned song?" she asked with an exasperated tone. "Not counting the ones he's making up about Whateley students!"

Boy, some of these students are lightweights when it comes to alcohol to get that drunk. At least it is working, but what about the 3 out of 10 it hasn't worked on.

Ouch, I hope the other drug works for the one guy or he is in for some painful surgery. 10% chance of that and requiring surgery, get them started on the drug now! They are being smart about who to treat first as well, good to see health care professionals in action.

Dr. Janosic having to deal with the affected boys hiding in the locker room once again, and from the sounds of it all of them are planning to go out topless, this won't end well. Nope, they are all wearing bright, colorful bikini tops didn't expect that. What happens when they all dive in the pool, I think Dr. Janosic is going to need some headache medicine very soon. Yup, having to leave to get something for his headache, that poor man is going to need a vacation by the time this is over.

Komiko Onishi down in the Workshop tunnels, summoned there by a friend, but for what reason? Sumika is there, and they are both in the group who is having their breast reduce on their own after they quit eating the chocolate. They don't want this to happen, tried to get their cottage fixer to get them some more chocolate, no go.

Nakano Kosuke, a gadgeteer with a crush on Laura, who Sumika bribed and found out about the cocoa butter. What!

<Because an intermediary already made contact, and we're here to pay and take delivery of the entire supply of the devisor cocoa butter,> Sumika announced proudly. <And I need you to help pay and to help carry it to a storage location I have arranged.>

These two are going to be in so much trouble once they are caught.

Horace going to his lab and finding the light off, it is an ambush! Black Hole and around 9 others lying in wait for him, wondering why he hasn't been affected by the chocolate, but all the other guys have. Horace just doesn't like chocolate that much, despite it being the truth the mob thinks this was all a twisted revenge plot, oh brother.

Calling Lori Trash Panda, Elijah needs to be taught manners the hard way. Horace says it is an accident and they are forcing him to prove his innocence by eating all the chocolate they haven't turned into security, this will get them all detention big time when found out. 12 bars and the threat of a beatdown if he doesn't eat them, a bunch of thugs.

Ike Mackay and his roommate Ward, both victims of the PPP Chocolate. Awkward conversation between two boys who never got to second base with a girl. Feeling up each other's boobs.

After several minutes of hesitant exploration of each other's boobs, Ike pulled back from his roommate. "That's enough. It's too weird."

"And we shall never speak of this again," Ward added emphatically.

Ike nodded. "Agreed."

They are going to need counseling, later on, I just know it.

Tessa chuckled. <It would have been, if I had taken the antidote. But I decided that I liked the ... improvement! I didn't take the antidote when they offered it. Several girls didn't.> She saw the horrified expression of concern on her sister's face, which also included a bit of envy. Like many typical French girls, Adalie and her sisters hadn't been overly endowed. Now, Tessa had bigger boobs than her older sister by a couple of cup sizes, at least before Adalie started nursing her baby.

Well, this is going to make things interesting once the next holiday vacation comes around. And who is Adalie married to?

Tanya is upset she wasn't affected by the chocolate despite eating so much, hates having a "boyish" figure. Koichi and Jimmy have bigger boobs than Tanya, no wonder she is so upset. Every girl in M3 grew except Morgana who was in Doyle and missed the chocolate craze.

"Do you feel like a boy?" the doctor repeated.

Tanya gawked at her, then thought a bit. "No, I guess not," she admitted slowly. "After what happened with Callie, it's ... it's like all the middle-ground was gone. We had to choose sides. And I know which side I'm on. I'm a girl."

"What makes a girl? What's on the outside, or what's on the inside?"

Tanya sighed. "But it's ... it's the outside that boys notice! It's the outside that makes them know you're a girl!" She sighed once more. "When they found out it was the chocolate," she admitted after a long hesitation, "Laura got me a bunch of candy bars." She noticed Dr. Markham peering over the top of her reading glasses at her. "We both knew it was wrong, but I had to try!"

"And?"

"And nothing! Nada! Zero, zip, zilch!" Tanya cried.

Whoa, Tanya is that desperate, this is very serious, starting to worry about her now.

"What does it say about you that you have a friend who's willing to risk getting in serious trouble to help you?" Tanya gawked at her. "Does Laura treat you as a girl, or as a boy?"

"As ... as a girl."

"And if she thought you were a boy, would she have taken a risk to help you try to grow breasts?" She watched as the thoughts sank into Tanya's mind. "Your friends know you're a girl. They treat you as a girl. They're willing to risk serious trouble to help you feel more like a girl."

Trust me, you hold unto friends like that and trust their opinion over your own when you are feeling down like this. I like Dr. Markham, forgetting Laura broke the rules for a friend.

Thursday, October 20, 2016 – Afternoon

Ophelia Tennet and Dr. Bellows waiting to talk to Cederic Lyons, hhm. Strength and reflexes of an Exemplar 3, somehow the chocolate made him an Exemplar or activated his dormant Exemplar trait. And he is stuck with boobs, crud.

"We'll be continuing medical and powers tests until we're certain," Dr. Tenant informed the unhappy boy, "but the powers lab's first guess is that when your original manifestation somehow got 'stuck'. The chocolate apparently unstuck it so that your exemplar trait and BIT emerged. It's possible that your new exemplar rating will end up higher as well."

"But ... does that mean my BIT has ... has boobs?" Cedric stammered, alarmed at what the doctor seemed to be implying.

"The internal scans we did show some changes starting in your internal organs as well," Dr. Tenant added, cautiously. "Your BIT is very likely ... female."

A stuck manifestation unstuck by the chocolate and a BIT that is female, Cedric got hit hard.

Thursday, October 20, 2016 – Dinner
Outside Crystal Hall, Whateley Academy

Great, Laura walking with only Bailey to the Crystal Hall and attacked by a male speedster who ignored the school's warnings. Crud, it is Cedric who is taking out his frustration and anger on Laura, blaming her for what is happening to him. Ouch, he messed up Laura's face before security got there and pulled him off. And going by cart to Doyle, she is in no shape to wake right now.

Broken cheekbone, major black eye, broken nose, and numerous other bruises, Exemplar 3 strength is no joke. Arrggh! Laura, you can't blame yourself for this, there was no way of knowing about any of these side-effects due to the testing machines glitching. Darn, Dr. Tennet not able to tell Laura anything about Cedric's case.

"No, it isn't. There are other factors involved here," Dr. Tenant replied in an attempt to calm the girl. "I can tell you very confidently that it is not your fault." She put on a smile. "Now let's do some healing so you can get back to the cafeteria for dinner."

I hope Laura takes those words to heart and doesn't keep beating herself up about Cedric.

Bianca, Morgana, Tanya, and Bailey all waiting for Laura in the ER waiting room, Mrs. Cody rushing in and hugging Laura, Dr. Barton showing up relieved Laura is okay.

With their constant reassurance, which continued through the food line and through most of dinner at the M3 table, Laura's sense of guilt over what had happened to the boy was reduced but not eliminated, even with repeated assurances that what happened to the boy was something that was going to happen to him sooner or later and she couldn't have either caused it or stopped it.

Cedric needs to learn that fact and accept it or he is going to be a wreck or worse. Nightmares, sometimes you wish your subconscious would be kinder and not unleash such things on you.

Friday, October 14, 2016 – Late Afternoon
Schuster Hall, Whateley Academy

Dr. Mazarin back from his trip and getting an update on the situation. 8 young men and 15 young women who need corrective surgery, the best they could hope for I guess. 11 girls who refused the antidote and corrective surgery, heh. Cup sizes that big for some of the girls, no wonder they want breast reduction! Cedric Lyons and Shannon Dougherty, I wonder why her case is complicated.

"Not just female," Dr. Tenant reported. "A CT-scan this afternoon showed signs that a tail is starting to develop. Based on a comparison of bone structure, we believe that he will ultimately have feline GSD."

"A kitty-girl?" Turner asked. Dr. Tenant confirmed his guess with a nod.

And things just got worse for Cedric, poor kid is going to need counseling and possibly anger management classes to deal with all the idiots. Wait, Shannon Dougherty is a guy who is turning into a girl, rarely see a guy with the name of Shannon so confused me before.

Mazarin winced. The rules on vigilantism were clear, but he could also understand that Mr. Lyons was suffering severe psychological trauma.

Glad to see he can enforce the rules,, but also be lenient based on the circumstances. One of the Melville boys in hiding now, poor kid should have gotten help sooner.

"At least this wasn't as bad the 2004 breast-growth serum that made girls larger only because it caused them to start lactating," Mr. Bumsfeld reported with a chuckle.

"Or the sunblock that turned everyone's skin purple," Dr. Tenant added.

"Or that fur virus?" He shook his head. "That was a helluva mess!"

"Don't forget the body wash that turned into long-lasting perfume!" Dr. Tenant laughed. "Filbert complained that Twain smelled like a French whorehouse for a month!"

Good grief, they have to put up with a lot of strange incidents working at Whateley.

Mazarin gawked at the two of them, looking back and forth in the hope of some sign that they were pulling his leg.

The Assistant Headmaster, though, had once been a Whateley student. "They're not kidding," he informed the Headmaster, then he shrugged. "You get used to it."

Mazarin, you have just seen the tip of the iceberg of Whateley Academy weirdness, I hope you enjoy your job after a few years at it.

Saturday, October 22, 2016 – Breakfast
Crystal Hall, Whateley Academy

Oh good grief! These guys go through this and they are already back to acting macho about the whole ordeal after they are cured, joking about it and such. Erica, Laura, and Bailey are probably right though, all an act to hide how embarrassed they are by the whole thing. Sumika and Komiko show up and they are bigger than ever! E or F cups on both of them, good grief, I knew the cocoa butter would have a bigger effect but this is ridiculous.

Putting on this act, those two will regret it if it keeps enlarging their bust without stopping.

"I bet they have back problems within a month," Bailey observed dryly.

Nope, I give them 2 weeks tops before they start complaining.

Those boys 'escorting' Horace around campus like this, please let security intervene and stop this already. And a junior girl asking about his bust size like this, a J cup, forcing him to speak loud, this is way over the line. Rescued by 'beautiful' girls, only for them to treat him like he is just another girl, make this humiliation stop already. Lori to the rescue! She can be very scary when protecting someone she cares about.

"And then I'm going to teach you why girls love having their boobs played with," Lori added in a sultry whisper. "And I'll keep it up until you have the lesson down pat." She waggled her eyebrows suggestively as she leered at the chasm of cleavage on display.

Hikaru with some of her colleagues from Melville shows up at the Crystal Hall, she has been affected by the chocolate. Crud, seems she blames Laura for this.

"By chance, did you look at the FDA standards for testing food?" Hikaru added another question.

Hikaru shook her head with a slight look of distaste. "Do you know how the testing in the Whateley labs is different from that required by the FDA? Or why those differences exist?" she asked Laura.

What, the testing at Whateley Labs on food doesn't meet the FDA standards in some way, say it isn't so. At least Tiff Lock shows up to save Laura from Hikaru's wrath, an emergency in Hikaru's wing back at Melville needs her attention.

"That did not go as I'd planned," she said, wondering how she was now going to talk to Laura about the situation, for which Hikaru very specifically did not blame Laura.

Maybe not be so blunt making the person your talking to think you are angry with them and run off crying the first chance they get?

Sunday, October 23, 2016 – Morning
Melville Cottage, Whateley Academy

Laura cleaning Hikaru's room as part of a commitment, despite the fact she might bump into Hikaru. Hikaru did the cleaning herself, she is serious about wanting to talk to Laura. Sitting down for tea, Laura goes to apologize but Hikaru stops her.

Hikaru simply held up her hand, palm toward Laura, to stop the girl's expected rambling apology. "I do not intend to cast blame on those who are at not true fault," she said simply, "or to cause feelings of guilt. That was not my intention yesterday, either."

Good, get that out of the way immediately so Laura can relax.

"Kurenai provided me with a summary of the differences between the Whateley testing standards and those of the FDA. My first reaction is that whoever wrote the Whateley lab standards should be shot," she said as a look of disgust flitted very quickly across Hikaru's features, "for recklessly endangering students."

Laura sat silently, uncomfortable again, and once more confused about where the conversation was going.

"There is a reason that the FDA requirements are as rigorous as they are. And why other countries have their own stringent standards for foods and drugs." She thought a moment, trying in her mind to phrase things in a way that wasn't going to cause Laura distress - again. "If you three were experienced, you would have known what testing should have been required."

It sounds like the Whateley testing standards are overdue for updating.

"But ... aren't we supposed to follow the rules?" Laura inquired, a bit puzzled.

Hikaru shook her head vigorously. "'I was just following orders' is not an excuse for indefensible actions. In this case, with product testing, you should consider the rules to be the absolute minimum, and you should skeptically ask if they make sense and if they're sufficient. If someone writes bad rules, you need to do what's right, not blindly follow bad rules."

Very good advice and something more people should follow. Abbreviated test regime, for the kind of stuff that goes through Whateley Labs, that is like playing with unstable dynamite and praying it doesn't explode! Shopping with Kako in Japan, Hikaru, is too cruel a punishment. Hikaru learning to open up to others, I have a feeling Laura is going to be instrumental in that over time.

So much happened in such a short amount of time for them. Laura working on the chocolate project with Lori and Horace while also working on Morgana's PFG and the neural neutralizer, I was afraid she would overwork herself. I loved all the details on what goes into making chocolate, the amount of research on this alone was impressive, elrod.

With all the help from Hikaru for the Japanese patents, I knew patents could be a nightmare for those not experienced in dealing with them but this took the cake. I was impressed at the bio-devisor labs and all the testing they did down there, until this final part where Hikaru points out how bad their standards are lax and need updating for the safety of the students.

All the things Laura had to deal with, the business etiquette, all to prepare her for her trip to Japan. I hope her trip goes well. M3 learning through Jimmy that someone is watching Laura, I just hope the Secret Squirrels don't act on their assumed information. Punk Pink Penguin Chocolate, the brand name alone probably drew in a lot of their early customers, I wonder how you came up with it, elrod.

Tavi may be admonished by Jimmy, but he knows how to make polite conversation, something Laura needed right then. Sumika and Komiko, I can understand wanting to be noticed by boys, but I feel it is going to backfire on them sooner or later.

Laura did all that testing on the PFG for Morgana, only for Morgana to have a burnout, I really hate that demon. Laura the first victim of the chocolate's side-effects, I knew right then it was going to get worse before the problem was solved, I just had no idea it was going to get that bad. Bravo on making a story with breast enlargement serious with consequences and fallout that will last, elrod.

The PFG backfiring and Morgana getting badly hurt, seems so much worse than I previously thought. All the guys and girls, including some adult females like Asami Nishimura, being affected, at first some might find it funny or a comeupance for macho guys who need taking down a notch or 3. Then the true danger of it, permanent changes requiring surgery to correct, and the emotional trauma it can inflict were revealed and it is terrifying to think about.

Erica, the first to joke about the chocolate project being the source of Laura's growth spurt, little did she know how right she was. The staff of Doyle went above and beyond dealing with the crisis, especially at first when boys refused to state the nature of their problem. It was nice to see just how much they can do when forced to work overtime. The whole staff of Whateley working together to figure out the cause of and fix a crisis, it is great seeing more of them with names to go with the faces.

It was nice to see Adalie again even for one scene, please say Ayla is her husband, or is that something you are going to save to reveal in the future?

Tanya, we knew from previous stories she had some issues with her figure, but I didn't think they were this bad. I hope continued counseling helps and she realizes you don't have to be curvy to be a girl.

The antidote, I'm glad it worked for some of the students and only a small number of the affected will need surgery, the physical and emotional scars are bad enough even in a small number. Especially Cedric Lyons and Shannon Dougherty, they will need to be kept under close watch for a long time I suspect, dealing with a major physical change could drive them to do something drastic.

Those 4 other incidents the staff brought up, just how many kinds of things like this happen in a typical Whateley school year?

And I'm glad Hikaru had that chat with Laura, both for Laura's sake and to inform us as to how badly the Whateley Labs testing standards are. Hikaru should bring that up to Mazarin and Turner so they can get to work on having them updated immediately for the students' safety.
