A PK "Supergirl" and associated with STAR League Jr. I wonder if Lily will ask Hank to tutor her with her powers.
Her origin story reminds me of a friend of mine whose Super Hero RPG characters are all orphans.
Her name and bubbly personality seem to make her a natural for Wondercute, but she seems not into super cute stuff.

I wonder if her origin story is going to stick with her as "simple" trauma, or if her minor isolation at Whateley from her adoptive sister and those teammates and her softball friends will lead her into mutant supremacy circles at school.
I mean, what happened is really, really horrible...and it was human supremacists who did it to her. And all the heroic role models she knows personally aren't going to include her because they're Juniors to her freshman (for good and rational reasons from their perspective).

They're not going to include her on their training team. That's not the same as excluding her from their friend group.

It's a DC Comics origin story, pretty much. I mean, how many DC heroes lost someone (or everyone) close to them at the beginning? 50%? More?
On a different note... the H1 dimbulbs managed a perfect *reverse* score: they killed every baseline human in the house (including themselves) and failed to kill any mutants. Somehow, I expect that their echo chambers will blame it on the mutant.

I'm not saying Ashley's logic isn't sound, it is, or that they won't each lunch together, or hang out, but there's some outstanding issues here that are hinted at being places where problems can grow from. Peggy just lost everyone. She has the same uniform as them, but isn't on their training team. She doesn't know anyone at Whateley right now, but will be automatically associated with a team she's not really a part of, and that team will be in the sims more often than not, without her.
That leaves Peggy vulnerable, because she's included by all appearances, but ends up being more of a mascot. You don't think some of the meaner students aren't going to point that out to her? She's in the position to be pitied, pandered to, belittled by the jerks looking to hurt others to push themselves up.
Not that Star League Jr. would actually do that to her intentionally. Even remotely. They just don't always think about the big picture or consequences of their actions.
Peggy seems cheery enough after getting to school, but the cabal has done pretty mean stuff to their characters...after they've already suffered and then arrived at Whateley.

To be fair, I said "minor" isolation.Arcanist Lupus wrote: They're not going to include her on their training team. That's not the same as excluding her from their friend group.

To be fair though, she's not in much worse of a position than a sizable selection of other freshmen. A fair amount of the average story for them involves "Near enough everyone turned on me, either making me scared for my life or else actually running me out of town." For some of them, take Charge for example, that was being run out of town only to go to a situation that was even worse.
The connection to the juniors brings both benefits and drawbacks: Benefit of having some friends. Drawback of being a target of bullies picking on her for their actions, as you said.
Whether she'll be okay will kinda depend on whether she can make her own freshman friends, and keep the balance between them and her new sister.

I'm not going to say that Entire Family Murdered is different from Disowned by Entire Family, because it isn't when you get down to it.
But from my view, the issue is that it looks like Peggy is supported, and those who care for her think they're doing so, when she's somewhat sticking out there, ripe for varying degrees of abuse.
The opportunity is there. I worry for her, because she's very likeable.

Not when they are flying overhead.
Pigeons are bad enough...
I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

Pigasus not only has plushies out, but has run for high office.
Plus nearly everyone loves Bacon!

I seem to remember a story where the Pegasi were all carnivores.

I think you are thinking of a Morpheus non-Whateley story, an d the line was "Unicorns love children".

If you want Unicorns, you should go for Charlie Stross's Unicorns...

Yep.
Charlie loved writing that, he doesn't like cute & cuddly mythological creatures.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

I always enjoyed Bek's Horndog from his Foxglove stories.

At first glance, it appeared to be a graceful white unicorn. However when I focused my attention on it and the creature came into a much clearer view, I could only gasp in disgust instead. The daemon was built something like antelope or deer, and I could see that it was also somewhat gaunt and bony. It had no white fur as I first thought, just glossy pale skin, the kind that I'd seen with horror movie vampires or things that lived in deep caves. It had four red eyes, two on each side of its head, and of course, there was the long black horn that jutted out from the center of the forehead.
I'd always thought that unicorns were supposed to be beautiful, graceful, and pure, so the sight of seeing the real thing...or at least a daemon that had probably inspired the stories, was a huge disappointment. This creature was hideous and disgusting, radiating a sense of unnatural wrongness. And when I saw what it was busy eating... a human body...the body of a child...I felt even more revolted.
"I thought unicorns like children," I gasped in horror.
"They do," a notru named Nadia responded in a cold angry tone. "Just not in the good way."
