  • What we do know about Bellows:
    1. He's a competent psychiatrist who puts a lot of effort into helping his patients.
    2. The sheepskins on his wall impressed Ayla. So, I gather that his degree did not come from the Mogadishu Mail-Order College and Falafel Stand.
    3. He's a mutant himself (low-level empathy), which might have predisposed him to work with mutants (and therefore Whateley)
    4. He has some military background. It's unclear exactly what kind, but from the way it was phrased he might have been a career medical/psychiatric officer.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

  • For completeness I'll add the following:

    Dr Bettey Markham
    1) Appears to be in her late 30s
    2) Favors Yvonne De Carlo from the Ten Commandments
    3) Ph.D from Stanford
    4) Has a fondness for the 'Peanuts' comic strip and a toy bank of the Lucy van Pelt Psychiatric Help Stand

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

  • Here are some other psychiatrists / psychologists who might be eminently qualified to work at Whateley:

    Dr. Sidney Freeman
    Dr. Zachary Smith

Probably. After a few hundred years it's easy to get good at anything. And he is knows for manipulating people so he knows how minds work.
But while it's bin stated... by him that he is an actual doctor we don't really know what kind of formal doctorate he has.
We did find out resonantly that the term doctor was coined for him. That he was the one who inspired it.

Depending on the ice, you could leave soft-tissue body parts behind when you slide
