Question Where did they go???

I know that Team Kimba are not coming back. It's a sad truth, but there will not be another TK perspective story for a long time, possibly ever. However, I'm a little curious where they ended up by Gen 2 In-universe. I know that Chaka is doing a sort of world-tour to showcase chi powers, and that's pretty much all I know. So where did Fey, Tennyo, Hank, Jade, Jinn, Bladedancer and Ayla end up??? I'd imagine that Hank would either join the military or settle down, Tennyo would really be suited for space (cause why wouldn't NASA or someone else have someone on their payroll who can fly up without a craft or a suit, can carry mission payloads cheaply, and can basically be the ultimate astronaut), Ayla...well, something to do with a business empire I guess, and I think Fey was mentioned in the story 'Laura and the Village' but I'm not sure on that. As for the others...beats me. Which is why I'm asking.

Nikki is a teacher at Whateley in the magic department, first mentioned in Sunshine & Fury if I remember correctly.

The rest are currently unknown or unconfirmed.

There has been some speculation on the forums that Ayla is Financier shown in Laura and the Village.

Why do you count stories from Ayla, Jade, or Nikki's point of view as "Team Kimba" stories and not those told from Hank's point of view or Chou's?

In "The Road to Whateley", she has a "website about martial arts and awaking your inner Ki", so she's more likely to be running her own studio, teaching, and writing than performing on tour. Or, perhaps the website is run by that "friend she hasn't talked to in nearly ten years", which could be any of several people.

I'd recommend that you finish reading the TK stories that have been published, and then wait for the Year Two stories to be written.

Whoever the "old friend" is, it's doubtful that they are running the website. I mean, wouldn't Toni need to talk to her webmaster now and then? Particularly when establishing the website, which likely happened less than ten years ago?

My money relating to the "friend" is on Chou. First, they purposely faked not being friends anymore, so she could be still counted as a friend despite having stopped talking while still at Whateley. Second, "cryptic" goes with "Handmaid of the Tao" like bread goes with butter -- probably something she saw in the Tapestry. And third, it's entirely possible that Chou's duties with the Tao led her to leave Whateley before graduating, leading to them losing touch before the expected 2010.

Tennyo might have gone to space before graduation due to several reasons -- but why would she be calling with cryptic messages regarding a teenage mutant-Animan? So not her style. In fact, the only other Kimba who might go with the "cryptic message" that springs to mind is Fey -- who not only was Chaka's roomie (meaning less likely to have lost contact before 2010) but is easily reachable at Whateley.

Another possibility is Carmilla -- IF Dr. Bender decide to leave her in the Tyvek Limbo for a few years, meaning that when she comes back all the Kimbas have graduated. Being a GOO, she might have got some information not available through regular channels.

True. It's unlikely that Toni would cop the usual management attitude about her own IT team. I was thinking it could be Zoe (Semi being employed or otherwise unavailable) or Scott (I don't see her as becoming Mrs. Scott Emerson for a reason or ten).

I think that Zoe/Semi is more likely as the old friend. With a slim chance of it being Belle, Shrike, or Hippy. A really outside chance of it being Breaker or another Grunt or one of the other Jr./Sr Posies.

After rereading the sequence of events, Nick Jr. was in email correspondence with Toni before his "public" use of powers. So whomever the "old friend" is would have access to Toni's emails. With Sahar likely employed by the CIA, she would probably be able to get that access.
