Question Tansy goes RED!? *spoilers within*

As I clicked through stories trying to satiate my "I NEED MORE OF ALEX PRESWICK-WALCUTT AND JAK" needs. Don't worry. I go through it every other week. I, then decided to re-visit some of Tansy's stories.
And something stood out to me... Lanie works as a member of the faculty! That had completely slipped my mind.
I must applaud Tansy's commitment... She had to learn about mechanical stuff to a level it would even fool her GAD/DEV colleagues and students! Either that or... Lanie never fully recovered her gadgeteering gift but that would invalidate this scene:
Staring at it won't bring her back, Grizzly whispered in her ear, ever practical. Tansy sighed in frustration. She had long ago gotten used to the dryly humorous spirit her mental powers had allowed her to trade with the real Elaine so their ruse would be complete. Being able to curl up in the fur of her beloved's spirit and cry the night away had kept her sane.
I wish I had Lanie's skills to invent something to...Tansy thought at the spirit, but the big she bear only sniffed in disdain and in a manner only a spirit can enveloped her in a massive hug without actually manifesting.
Or she pulled a Madskillz! (or a Zenith... Or a Migraine. Hey... It's not my fault a few telepaths have mastered this skill) and uses her telepathy to "mimic" a gadgeteering trait. There are so many other possibilities!
Anyway... I'm sure this will get clarified eventually. But I just wanted to theorize a little about how Tansy pulls this off. Heck, even maintaining the accent at all times is HARD. Even for an Exemplar.

It's possible that Tansy also picked up a bit of the Database Technique.

One of the things that must be taken into account is:
What classes are taught by Elaine? Theory or lab?
I think any baseline with the right training and preparation could teach theory to students in the Tech Track. Lab? Uhm. Doubt it. I mean... It's possible, just very very hard.
Which makes me think... Either Elaine never regained her GAD abilities at full potential so nobody questions why her tech-y skills have decreased. Tansy pulled a Madskillz's (as I referenced above). Or... Tansy simply hit the books.
Now, with that being said; I fully believe Tansy will have a full-on identity crisis, if or when Elaine returns to their lives. She's acted as Elaine for SO LONG she's forgotten how to be Tansy. Who had a not-very-solid identity to begin with. She will have to reintroduce herself to her kids and family who thought her dead for so many years now.
Once the excitement and relief over Elaine's return dies down, a part of her will wish she had stayed "dead".

And once again, thank you for Alex and all of your amazing contributions to the Whateley Universe. The Walcutts have surely grown on me!

This is what I keep referring to as "pulled a Madskillz's". Tansy is a skilled telepath but she still lacks the ESPer part that helps put everything into context. Therefore, I think she picked up multiple skills from Lanie along the years (became tech savvy), and when Elaine passed she developed some sort of telepathic-link technique that "mimics" the Database Technique.
Sort of like Migraine did in The Big Idea, and Madskillz does to be a Faux-Gadgeteer.
Otherwise, wouldn't anyone think it STRANGE that Elaine Cody hasn't built any gadgets or built literally anything in years? She has so many patents, and held the title of the Labs' Goddess for multiple years.
I believe she is somewhat of a legend in the labs to this day. And outside of it, too.

I LOVE this plot twist... I stress simply by thinking of how to pull something like that off. Imagine pulling it off and living through it day by day.
Grizzly must be one heck of a good therapist if she has been the one holding Tansy together throughout these years.

Imagine having your life be absolutely saved, to fall desperately in love with the person who saved you, then loose her.
And then impersonate her for years. Whatever debt she accrued with the bank of karma, I'm pretty sure Tansy's balanced the books.
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

Seeing how the world keeps on moving, some getting over your death while the thought, "Did I mean so little to you?" creeping its ugly head in, despite of how much you despise it.
Living with a secret only a few know, and not being able to discuss it with
them.
The guilt... Blaming yourself over the death of your beloved, who led you down a completely different road. One filled with love.
Your life has become a complete performance. Some days even forgetting what your real face truly looks like.
The paranoia of someday, somehow being discovered.
Honestly, my heart goes out to Tansy.

Maybe not. At one point, Tansy was certain that no one loved her nor could anyone know her and still love her.
