  • I was wondering about his background. One article on the wiki describes him as part GOO and part Were and another says he is part Sidhe and was born one. I was just curious if there is more information regarding this.

  • nope... very little is known about the Bastard.

He's one of the major bads of the original timeline... you're not going to find out much about him until its too late... err.. until later...

  • He's effectively The Biggest Bad of G1. There are other Big Bads of course - notably Necromancer, Nimbus and Hekate's Master, but while their plans are limited to a specific group of students or chunk of territory, The Bastard wants to destroy Life As We Know It.

Evidently the fact G2 exists indicates he doesn't succeed (either completely vanquished or beaten to such an extent it'll be a while before he tries again), and there are probably vague outline plans for dealing with him in Canon (which may have been tweaked slightly with the changes to the author roster), so we're likely to find out at some point in the next decade or two...

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Yes, from the fact that Whateley is still going, and the World hasn't Ended, means that His nefarious plans fell through.

    That's a given since Gen 2 exists.

However it's not the destination, it 's the journey that's important.

I'm still looking forward to seeing what sort of rabbits get pulled out of the hat. :D

Well, if Kodiak defeats him it'll probably be very Watership Downs, if Jade gets involved we could probably see more then our fair share of March Hares :p

    Are you certain of that?

It's not like an enemy that has been warring against life on this world for millions of year +/- millenia due to the shattered time of the Sundering... is necessarily going to 'immediately' stop everything. For all you know its a ten year process to speak the words needed to consume the life energies of something this size. And he might first have to take a century to draw the attention of his masters to focus on us.

    you just can't know.

  • While his end goal could take any amount of time, that's not necessarily what we're concerned with. We are concerned with any event which could cause upheaval, death and/or destruction on a sufficient enough scale which for all we know might be a a minor side effect of the planning stages of The End of the World.

While I of course can't say for sure, I figure it reasonable for the sake of drama and action that something of notable consequence will occur in the Gen 1 timeline due to The Bastard's machinations.

Seriously, thank you for your time and effort. It is appreciated.

  • I would say that his immediate plans fell through, since there's -- so far -- no suggestion of a large, open Mythos presence anywhere in the Gen2 world. And he WAS going pretty open, what with taking over the Northwest Native American tribes... so at the very least had an important setback and was driven back underground.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

I like the "so far"... so we may still see something like a student from New C'thar'thkonia (entirely made-up as far as I know and my masters are telling that that's correctly said). in the eastern provinces of the tentacle-lands.

  • The terrible thing is, it is just a quest for The Bastard to find his father.
