  • Ok, we've been teased about this guy three times now I think, and I have to say in my mind he looks like Thirty/Thirty from Bravestarr minus the cybernetics.

  • Curious... Pierre admits to being Nick Jr's uncle. Now is that a blood connection? Or a adopted family member style connection? I'm guessing Pierre might be one of the Rangers from Nick Sr's chalk during the initial assault on Paradise Isle. Sergeant First Class Pierre Hicks? Hmmmm...

  • ElrodW admitted elsewhere, probably the Boys of Summer thread that Warhorse is Pierre Hicks. And "Uncle" would probably come from them both being Horse Animen from the original Ranger group. They are probably all "Aunts and Uncles" at least for this generation.

  • Indeed there is no blood relation, but a 'band of brothers' none the less.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

  • I assume with the different family structure, that eventually different familial naming patterns will emerge. Had the author given any thought to this? (I kind of doubt that it would be needed unless a Whateley 2200 is done.)

  • Actually yes. The word herd is beginning to replace family among the equines, with the herd name being taken by the fathers last name, along with this there is a blending of this and a more traditional views of polygamy where the wives refer to each other as sister and the children call all of them Mother. This will likely hold for a few generations until a true language shift begins.
