  • As the title says, or at least the ability to go through the thread pages on the mobile site. It's quite debilitating not to be able to do this.

Any Bad Ideas I have and microscene OC character stories are freely adoptable.

  • I do too. Both of my android tablets work fine on the site. Make sure you are using the site in landscape, not letter. NO site, designed for desktop or mobile, is set up for more height than width.

I've solved most of the issues that people had with using the site on mobiles early on over the past few months... there are a 'few' things I can still think of that could be improvements that could make it 'more' mobile versatile... basically creating an entirely separate mobile site, for instance. However, neither forums or fiction reading sites are actually ideal environments for mobile devices (there's a reason ebook file formats involve almost no text formating properties). There are going to be some mobile devices with screen sizes or resolutions that simply cannot work on a site not specifically developed for those screens.

Actually, the ePub format supports pretty much all the text-formatting features of HTML, and a fair amount of CSS. It's just that many ebook readers simply ignore the formatting and override everything with their own so-called "styles".

That's the main reason I like Aldiko, by the way. I tried A LOT of ebook readers until I found one that had decent support for embedded styles. There are still a few issues, like CSS pseudo-classes (no support for :first-line, for instance) and limited font choices, but overall it works well -- as long as you turn OFF the "advanced formatting" feature.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

  • Technically accurate, but not the point. I don't care what format or styles you impose on text, when you only have 200 pixels to display it; ANYthing imposed on it will be problematic. That's why most of that sort of thing is removed to make your standard ebook... so the text CAN be reshaped to fit the full window, no matter what your pixel count is. Unlike, say, a forums where you NEED some imposed structure to be able to have clarity of what is what.

  • There are still modern cell phones with only 200 pixels? Even cheap phones have 500x800 pixel displays these days. Anyone bothering to attempt to read on a phone is not showing up with only 200 pixels screens.
