  • Something is going around, vet who treated our dear, departed Sally doesn't know if it is a virus or what, causing mouth ulcers in cats. These cause them such pain they stop eating and drinking, losing a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Such weight loss, especially in smaller cats, may not be noticeable until it reaches critical levels. Please, if you notice any change in behavior in your cat or cats and them slowing down even a little, get them to a vet immediately. I wish we had noticed sooner, by the time Sally's weight loss was noticeable it was critical and she passed away jus 40 minutes ago. She was the runt of the litter and it is a miracle she lived this long, but she was only 5 years old and it hurts she is gone so soon.

Thank You for story comments appreciated and help me know me they are being read and liked. :-) Note: My story comments can't nor are trying to replace reading the stories, simply my way of enjoying them and letting the authors know I enjoy them.

  • I'm sorry to hear that, as it's always hard to lose a loved pet. The same thing happened to my cat about 2 years ago, though the vet told me that the mouth ulcers were probably caused by kidney failure, but we didn't catch any of it until it was far too late.

  • Sorry to hear. No pets at my home, unless you count the kids.
