Question I heard this and thought of here.

  • This seems so much like a song about a deviser and her creation. A sad song. ;(

  • Somehow it's Petshop that first came to my mind after hearing this song. Making a pet back at home, and with the recent talk of sterile bio-project and them being flawed, the pet could have a really short lifespan for all we know. First project, not knowing what she was doing, her new dog/cat/cute-thingy dying after a few weeks. Sad :(

  • I can definitively see the devisor part there, building an AI friend, and then... Consequences of life.

My interpretation would pretty much go with a song about growing up. About starting with an imaginary friend, having fun together, then one has to move on too bigger things, and the old toys get left behind. With their purpose gone, then even those old toys no longer have reasons to be. Huh. Now I'm flashing back to Inside Out. It's sad, certainly. That, I have no questions about it.

What makes this one sadder though, is that the little device... Did it themselves. Like they couldn't wait, or find purpose outside of their creator.

The best you can do though, is always remember the good times you had together. Yes, there may be regrets, but there was happiness before that. Never to forget that... You had so much fun together.

  • It reminds me of Puff the Magic Dragon ... but sadder.
