I am reading Sword of the South by David Weber and compared to the previous books this one is much less lighthearted. But my reason for posting this is:
Warning: Spoiler!

The main assassin chasing after the heroes, mentions a secret he doesn't want out. My initial reaction, that's tooooooooo cliche. Later the character muses about who knows the secret, and that he doesn't want others to know. Again I am thinking toooooooo cliche. Then he tells some underlings that he is going to get a woman to spy on the heroes for him. Dammit, the author went there. The assassin is a woman in male drag. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Have you ever read Camelot 3000? It was farely good until they introduced Sir Tristan. They clearly broke ground with the story, but it seemed to follow the usual formula and for the young readers left many confused. And it was geared towards the.

I don't know how many here read the webcomic Goblins, but there was an odd twist. The group has recently found a bunch of pillars that show various things the group loves; people, places, food... They are trying to figure out one, when they realize it is showing what they lust after. Itpictures a female goblin with a luxurious head of hair. They begin teasing one goblin over his hair fetish, when the image changes to a rather well built male goblin. The group looks at the paladin, then goes back to teasing about hair.

I was reading Goblins, then during the long hiatus, stuff came up and forgot about it. Glad to see it up and running again, time to do some delving.
Right now I'm reading and watching Parasyte, a Japanese body horror story. Just finished watching two episodes of the anime with my 4 year old daughter, she thought most of the body horror was funny looking, but didn't like the fights.
Kids who aren't afraid of their own shadow are awesome.

Been reading some manga lately:
Dungeon Meshi (ダンジョン飯): Cute, fun story about an adventuring party that wipes in a dungeon but survives. Except now they're out of food and money so to keep going they need to 'live off the land'.
In the dungeon.
Teppu (鉄風):A manga about female MMA fighters in Japan, specifically a girl who's so talented at everything she tries she's bored with everything.
Normally I'm not one for non-fantasy(or scifi) stuff, but this one amused me for a number of reasons. Not the least of which being they took the somewhat common trope of one of the main characters being a dimwitted, crude, and energetic person (such as Goku or Naruto ) and made them the antagonist while the vaguely evil, too-cool for and hates everything style person (like Vegeta and Sasuke ) and made her the protagonist. And I oddly found myself rooting for her despite this.
And on a sidenote, anyone read Jim Butcher's new book? Kinda curious because he usually manages to write good things, but I have absolutely zero interest in steampunk.
Which is odd because I'm such a huge Urban Fantasy buff and you'd think that steampunk would be like, just a precursor for it. But well... (I am fond of corsets and tophats though ;P)

Kaze no sutiguma ( 2007 ) Yagami Kazuma was originally part of the Kannagi family, a respected family of fire users who have an affinity to fire. However, after being easily defeated by his cousin Ayano and having no talent whatsoever in fire magic, Kazuma is banished and casted out from his family. 4 years later, Kazuma finally returns to Japan, this time as an exceptionally powerful wind user. A series of murders on Kannagi family members have occurred with his arrival. While most of the family including Ayano is convinced Kazuma is the culprit, he honestly isn't. These events begin an all out war against the Kannagi family, with Kazuma and Ayano right in the middle of it. Based on the novel by Takahiro Yamato.

Just started reading this thanks to your suggestion. It's surprisingly good, although the elf is annoying at times.Space Elf wrote: Been reading some manga lately:

What do you think the Japanese TV show was based on? It all goes back to the book eventually. Also I'd add that if you look at the Authors Blog , she appears to be actually be quite versed in Taoism and related literature so I would not be surprised if she did go to the original source.

Well, it's a standard comedy setup that someone needs to play the straight er, 'man'.
But yeah, it's better than blurbs make it sound. I almost didn't give it a chance because of it's summary. Glad I did though.
Also my next pathfinder character is totally going to be a half-orc chef
