I think I once posted about this series before, but maybe that was back on the old server?

Anyway, this series is a bit of a lightweight in regards to world building, not a lot of explanation about how the world works, or why some people have powers and others don't.

Sure, one family can trace their linage to an alien, but supers have been around in this world for a long time. There is a reference to the Loki and Maui line's in one book, so thousands of years.

Anyway, the reason I'm pointing out this series is that just about always when I finish a book I feel good.

these days that's something to be valued.

So I recommend these as a lightweight fun read. Only negative is that there are no transgender characters.

  • He is doing the -cross dimensional thing right now. One of the recent books crossed over into Sidney of "Girl Power" (the web comic) dimension. It's always possible that he'll drop in on the WU... but I haven't heard anything official yet.

it was very tiny, but there was a reference to Sidney in the most recent Grand Central Arena, book by Ryk Spoor.

When one of the characters remarked that the spices in an alien dish would even give Sidney pause. How she could have been known to someone that far into the future can only be answered if you know the whole back story to this plot line, and that would mean big spoilers. ^-^

I'm excited by the idea of some cross universe action.

  • The series now has a Gender Fluid character. A high level shifter who is comfortable in either gender, and is trying to get close to our petite MC

doh!! my mistake. I was thinking of "Wearing the Cape" series. I highly recommend it as well.

How can you not like a series that drops "Ozma" into it.

She's only sixteen. But she's been sixteen for a very long time.

  • Newest Wearing the Cape book is out.

It's weird, and the explanation when it came was perfectly rational based on previously established situations but came totally out of left field and I didn't for one second consider it when trying to figure out what the heck was going on.

Always a good thing when you don't figure out the surprise twist twenty pages into the story.
