Question Class X driving one insane?

I think JG was saying that seeing class X rips your mind apart in ways that can't be fixed to easy?
But I want more info on this one for fan fic and any GREAT input or ideas are welcomed!
But does seeing or being too close kill the mind via memories being erased or like a hard drive missing that "find that" part that maps it?
of is the 'soul' damaged so bad? that it can be or is blasted to bits and right out of the body?
Then the subject of how crazy do you get if not a vegetable? You know charlie Manson nuts or rip your own eyes out nuts?
here are my examples on this from TV
One show like a twilight zone show? had a guy that heard some small thing that drove him nuts and when he said just one sentence of that to someone---they went NUTS on the spot..The show ended with him reaching a radio stations and starting to say the line to the live mike!
the other is comics, a Marvel one I think? Like 'what if?'
the main line character, like cyclops goes nut and then when his girl tries to help him, He takes her to his bed room and pulls out a comic book from under the bed, THAT has the same cover art of the one you are reading and he then turns to the page your are reading (that show him doing that!) and hands it to her...she reads on flips a page or two and goes NUTS!
So give me more input on this for my fan fic all!

here's a few
1) just breaks them... for some reason 2+2 no longer equals 4 (either metaphorically and/or literally). They may not recognize something or the logical response to a stimuli might be something quite different from what they'd previously done... maybe they use a plugged-in appliance as a rubber ducky or cross in front of traffic instead of between it.
2) all the memories are there... but the connections to them are missing. so they might recognize people or things but not now why. This can extend all the way to not knowing how to stand/walk or feed themselves. The connections might not be able to be remade.
3) all the memories are gone... all progress in life has been lost mentally. start from go.
4) something incompatible has been written to the mind. This is what most people think of when dealing with horrors from outside our reality. How the heck DO you add-up 3 + the color orange... and why would swordfish like to sit on it? (and feel free to insert concepts from dimensions we can't perceive for any of these items) And WHY can't I stop thinking of that!!!
Or some combination or severity of multiple of them.

Gothmog seems to control his presence so that it doesn't cause any problems he doesn't want caused.
Phase had no problems beyond horrific nightmares, and other problems from his exposure.
The two girls that had exposure had unknown problems, but probably similar to Phase.
The MCO agents that 'survived' one comatose, and the other ripped his eyes out.
Exposure to Unceghila and his sons seems to require eye contact and results in some sort of brain wipe.
Others from "secondary" exposures seem to just have pre-existing mental problems exaggerated and amplified.

There are no rules for class X entities, each of them is dangerous in a completely different way. Each entity needs to be treated individually, and what its effects on the mind are, and how they happen, and who they happen to will vary nearly completely from one class x entity to another.
'Class X' isn't a set of rules, class X is a warning about the absence of the know rules in a very, VERY dangerous way.
From what I'm reading, it seems to me you guys are not talking about 'Class X' in general, but 'Mythos' in the specific (Great Old Ones and Mythos magic).
Mythos doesn't break the minds on 'contact', rather mental communion with Mythos creatures causes breakages, and studying Mythos Magic seems to warp the perceptions of practitioners to the point that they no longer seems to have any common frame of reference with ordinary humans, and are 'crazy' according to our concepts of morality and causality.
The basic law of Mythos seems to be 'contact with Mythos bad. Prolonged or repeated contact with Mythos is very VERY bad!'

"Some kinda demon thing. It's supposed to fry your brain."
"Didja try it?"
"I'm not gonna try it! You try it!"
"I'm not gonna try it."
"Hey, let's get Mikey! He won't like it - he hates everything!"
Mikey come in, eats the demon, burps contentedly.
"He likes it! Hey, Mikey!"
Mikey smiles, reaches behind his head, and pulls off a mask, revealing a blue-haired anime character. "No, but it was delicious anyway!"

Well we have had limited exposure to Class X stuff.
The Grove, and a couple other Whateley sites.
Gothmog
The end of the sewers.
BRK... Phase's friend
Unhcegila's family and contaminated friends. This is really the biggest exposure.
Anymore?

There is whatever is in that cave that turned FUBAR inside out.
The Witch and her master both seem to be using Mythos magic.
I'm sure there is more, but that iswhat I remember of the top of my head from the stories.

I thought that until Sara and Billie were fully "mature" neither really qualified as Class X.
The cave is one of a couple of Class X sites on Whateley.
We haven't really seen much Mythos Magic from Hekate and her Master (other than Sun and Fun)

Considering that Hekate and her master are only secondary characters, I'd say we've seen quite a bit.
We've seen Hekate's Slave spell (and the various other damages done to Cavalier and Skybolt), Chou and friends dealt with the circle of malignancy. Jade got the full brunt of the horrible things Hekate has done with her evil knife, and we saw Hekate's name-shedding trick (although that might not be Mythos). The fact that we've seen anything from her master at all is impressive considering how little we've seen of him, but he mind-controlled whats-her-name for the Riddle of Sappho, and he provided the Sara-summoning spell.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, and Hekate also did that body switching thing for Jann and that shifter. Which may be the only example we have of a magical working with two different Class X influences involved (Hekate's spell and Tennyo's mark), and yet somehow it managed to have a reasonably positive outcome for both

Can I ask for this thread to go into a new direction?
Can I get some small or short or real long if you like, descriptions of various Class X encounters...that made one character either slightly nuts?
to barking mad....to rips eyes out before murdering all in sight or after--lol or what ever nuts,
but writable ideas you have?
Reason I am drawing a blank on this a bit?
thanks!

Ecila Mason flashbacks to Jan. 13, 1921 ( I looked into the Abyss and it Winked (part 2)
A quick lesson in Why It Pays To Double-Check Your Summonings : (You might not get BKCRMWDJVG!)
I think Renae's "Petra 1: Rock and a Hard Place" mentions the extremes to which the Vatican and others may need to go should a location need cleansing/remediation, but it's been a while since I've read the whole story.
Idea I have had:
Barely touched on in "Some days it doesn't pay ..." an OC gets the "burnout in a can" treatment (developed earlier during the events of "Ill Winds") after being stabbed with a Mythos-tainted dagger. Whether his survival depended on the treatment, having executed the SOB that tried to sacrifice him, an existing pact with a Class 2 entity, or some of the even more reckless stunts he's pulled in the past remains to be seen.
