  • Since you all can't respond in the announcement forum I'll open up a topic for it here.

I regularly get notices about failed entry attempts to the back end of the site. Those alone raise my sensitivity level about the site. (yes being paranoid is tireless work.)
I have started taking very close looks at registrations. I would explain more about what I do, but I caught myself before I said anything and gave away what I check for.

Anyway, if you want to complain about it or discuss it, do it here.

  • I'm extremely glad that Warren takes care of the user registrations. I don't have the right level of paranoia for the job, I don't think. I'm always "give them a chance and we can boot them later" and Warren has already finished high altitude recons, set up a guarded perimeter, and ready to give the go for the surgical strike to shut them down. I'm sure that we end up blocking some potential readers/community members... and apologize for that. But at the same time, the site gets very, very little spam or internal abuse. For that, we can all be thankful... and that's all on Warren.

  • I know that i don't know enough why people want to check out the back end of a site, but i'm assuming there are no good reasons for normal users to do that.
So Warren keep up the good work to keep the site safe. I for one dont want this site hacked like the last one :cheer:

Let's give the cheers, I'll lead the way:
    Hoorah, hoorah, hooray!

    Thanks for your work, Warren!

  • Thank you Warren.

My only complaint is that I didn't get the free car I was promised with my registration.

Also you might need a metal detector and a microscope, nowhere in the fine print did we state these were drivable cars.
