Question DD Rides Again (non-Whateley BUT FUN)

    • I have in on reasonably good authority (PRC herself) that a new chapter of the rekindled Crystal Sprite story of Darla Ann Drake "DD Rides Again" is being worked on by Penny Reed Cardon. At this time no ETA has been forecast but even the hint of more of this fabulous tale has me all excited.

    That is all this humble personage has at present. If anyone is interested I'll post more information as it comes in?

    • While we don't generally mind people pointing out new work by their favorite authors, the name isn't familiar to me (either for the original Crystal Sprite story or this derivative/fan fic piece and its author)... how about a summary or at least some elaboration on why the story is something that the Whateley community might be interested in anticipating with you? At the very least, it sounds as though anyone who would want to read new chapters would have some old stuff to read to catch up...

    I did personally do a little poking around and found what you're talking about on Bigcloset... so at the very least, readers should be aware that this is likely to be TG Fiction.

    • Sorry if I have offended. The original story had 10 year old David first being forced into girls clothing where-upon Darla finds herself. Being a VERY bright child she soon goes on to become a teenage business tycoon and university graduate at age 17.

    Crystal seemed to have abandoned the story after leaving Darla Ann Drake (DD) with her paper empire having lost its headquarters building to fire. Penny Reed Cardon took up the tale and has been (a little too slowly for many of us) continuing the saga. The previous chapter (7) ended with a cliffhanger where a spy within her company was about to be named.

    The original story "Texas Gal" is by C (Crystal) Sprite (mostly) on her own web-site Crystal's Story Site. (i.e. chapters 1 - 50) C Sprite wrote and posted chapters 51 - 53 on Big Closet, then seemed to have abandoned the project. Penny Reed Cardon picked up the story line and ~ sort of ~ continued it, BUT because of not having explicit permission decided to rename the 'continuation' to avoid confusion of authorship. ergo "DD Rides Again"

    I am not computer literate enough to create 'links' to the various stories, BUT, Penny apparently is, because if you open the story page on BCTS there are links to the 'prequels'.

    • Hi, we (the moderator / authors) really aren't trying to come down on you (sorry if it seems that way), but if you're talking about a story off the site, a link to it wouldn't go astray :)

    (Believe me, many people have linked interesting to the community off site stuff loads of times before in our forums, were not trying to come down on you, but someone messaged us all that your topic was in the wrong place so all the moderators came in and checked).
