  • There are actors with geek cred, due to some pretty significant roles they played. Like, say... Carrie Fisher for Princess Leia.
There are actors with double geek cred, due to having played *two* major geek-related roles. Such as Patrick Stewart, with Jean-Luc Picard and Professor X.
And a few have even more. Harrison Ford comes to mind (Han Solo, Indiana Jones and Rick Deckard).
Summer Glau may have surpassed him, with roles in Firefly/Serenity, Terminator:TSCC, Dollhouse, The 4400, Alphas and Arrow.

I wonder who is the actor with absolute max geek cred out there?

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

  • Samuel L. Jackson?

Nick Fury, Frozone, Mace Windu, Arnold (Jurassic Park), Jules Winfield, Elijah Price, Rufus, Afro Samurai, Zog, Valentine, and a part in every other movie made.

    I'm sure more roles qualify.

    Don't Drick and Drive.

  • What about actors that ARE geeks themselves, guys like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson who both love geeky roles, when you can pry them from their Xbox or table top RPG games...?

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

  • Then there's Hugo Weaving who's had a couple of small parts here and there (Elrond, Megatron, Agent Smith, Tick/Mitzi) and Alan Rickman, aka Marvin, Severus Snape, Alexander Dane, Metatron.

Jason Momoa's been in a couple of TV series.

  • Nicholas Cage. His stage name is taken from Luke Cage, one of his children is named Kal-El, and he sold a portion of his comics collection for millions (including a copy of Action Comics #1).

    Kevin Smith, goes without saying...

Seth Green, Robot Chicken's creator, writer, and voice-over actor.

And Simon Pegg, just about as big of a Trekkie and Star Wars fan as you can find in Hollywood. I personally love his retelling of how his daughter watched through the first six Star Wars movies in numerical order, and she declared that 'Yoda is real!' when they got to Empire Strikes Back.

edit: Oh yeah, Pegg has done Dr. Who as well.
