  • Well, it's not as bad as being stabbed....

    ...But it's still bad.

The series of disasters has continued, with the guys they hauled in to examine the plumbing saying that they're going to have to rip out the freshly reinstalled floor, and most of the interior walls...

...And all of the electrics that just got rewired

...And the fresh, undamaged AC system

...and they're going to have to refit all the pipes.

What's worse is that management has thrown up it's hands in despair, and lumped the remaining repair bills on my landlords: My parents. Who, are understandable pissed. They also can't afford the bills on their current wages, while only getting half rent because a) I'm not living in the apartment, so they reduced it and b) because my roommate has no job, has no studio to paint in, is living in a student lodge near the apartment so that she at least has somewhere to live, and therefore has no room to paint her commissions, and all of this has lead to financial strife.

My point? My parents are asking me to abandon the apartment, have already given notice to tennants in another apartment they own in the city, and are trying their best to sort out the frakking mess that one lousy cigarette has caused.

So, you may be thinking 'Hey, this isn't so bad! At least your parents have a alternative location for you!!"

Well, you're half right. The apartment is still relatively close to where the old one is (Sydney being a relatively small city after all), and it's pretty decent (although the current tennants are apparently immigrants who've done some...strange...interior rennovations. There are going to be a lot of holes in the walls from where the've nailed rugs to the walls very sloppily, which is one of the reasons my Mum and Dad are kicking them out.

Unfortunately, the house is a one-bedroom which the family who are living there were all sharing. Yeah. It was actually better than where they came from. No idea where they got the money to pay the rent, but still. Anyway, this is a shitty situation for my roomie, who now has nowhere to go, is in a country she's been living in for about a year and a half now, and is pretty much penniless. So, the last thing I'm going to do is help her with finding a apartment in Sydeny.

Yeah. So...there are some IF 's and BUT's about this.

IF the workers are quick and efficient, or IF there turns out to be no problem in the next inspection (which has been delayed for a indefinate amount of time), then the apartment work will be able to be finished without the expensive and destructive reset on the work.

BUT if it isn't, I'm going to have to move, my roomie (whose a decent enough person to share a apartment with) will have to find a place with someone less fantastic as me (unless the new roomie is the opposite of bad) and then I'll be paying full rent for a apartment with wall damage and apparently torn out fittings (the family insisted on preparing meals traditionally, and while Mum and Dad was preoccupied with my apartment, they illegally had the microwave oven, fridge, kitchen sink, ventilator and pretty much everything but the stove torn out to make room for more beds (WHERE DO THESE PEOPLE EVEN COME FROM??? I DON'T EVEN THINK ANY CULTURE IS THIS BACKWARDS AND RUDE!!!)...so I'm financially stuffed in terms of saving for my stuff, so now I have to get a student loan...

Oh, and let's not forget that a incident today made my entire D&D group blow up, so now we're all fuming at home...

...and the severity of the incident (which extended into the real world and dove into the fantasy one) may cause us to split up entirely...

...and already the three members of the group most involved in the incident are looking like they'll stop speaking to each other, which makes half the f**king party gone already including the DM...

...oh, and I've just stuffed up a $30,000 robot when I wired a circuit wrong and fried it...

    ...So, FML 2: Electric Boogaloo

Note: I'm still Ok to run Crystal Con. I just may be busy for quite a bit of it.

In the US, after selling the working appliances (maybe not the stove, as you can burn charcoal on top of one), the plumbing is ripped out. Extra points if the tenants decide to try making an electrical fire look like an accident or get in the habit of pulling up the carpet so they can quickly hide any excrement and blood on the floor if someone comes round.
