  • I think it was a Phase story, but I'm not 100% on that, so could anyony point me to the correct story that has the ad for the Hulk movie?

I haven't found ads, more discussion and press releases.

    * “The Hulk", produced by Merchant Ivory<ref name="ayla7.2">''Ayla and the Great Shoulder Angel Conspiracy, Part 2''</ref>

    * "Brokeback Hulk", directed by Ang Lee<ref name="ayla7.2"/> (The last one was bad enough!)<ref name="ayla8.11">''Ayla and the Birthday Brawl, Chapter 11 - The Legend of Florimell, or of Wittiness''</ref>

    * "Hulk 1809"<ref name="ayla8.4">''Ayla and the Birthday Brawl, Chapter 4 - The Legend of Cambel and Triamond, or of Friendship''</ref>

  • I think that the Merchant-Ivory one and Hulk 1809 might be the same movie. If I remember well the "Brokeback Hulk" ref, it was not an actual movie, but something that someone joked regarding "What if Marvel hired Ang Lee to do the Hulk?"

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

    Chaka thought of the joke:

Ayla and the Great Shoulder Angel Conspiracy, Part 2 wrote: Nikki snorted, “The Hulk, done by Merchant-Ivory?  Who thought that one up?”
Toni smirked, “Could’a been worse.  How about Ang Lee’s ‘Brokeback Hulk’?  Coming soon to a theater near you and your same-sex life partner.”

    Memetic mutation:

Ayla and the Birthday Brawl, Ch. 4 wrote: Even better was a video clip from CNBC.  A Hollywood pundit looked into the camera and said, “at last we no longer have to fear Marvel giving us Ang Lee directing ‘Brokeback Wolverine’.”

Ayla and the Birthday Brawl, Ch. 7 wrote: That ‘Iron Man’ movie was actually a damned good idea, now that the special effects were adequate to the task.  Come to think of it, I needed to track down whoever had actually greenlighted “Hulk 1809”, and make sure they never again had a more important decision than ‘coffee or tea, sir?’  Well, at least they hadn’t really let Ang Lee direct a Marvel movie.  I couldn’t see that working.  The man was a brilliant director, but his style was certainly not suited for comic book characters.  Maybe I should find out who really came up with that ‘Brokeback Wolverine’ line and offer him my first interview.  Some deserving ghost writer could use that kind of break.

Okay, no "Brokeback Hulk", though I wonder how close it had/has come to happening.

    (Not counting Hulkling, of course)

  • Thanks. I was having a tester suggest the Hulk as a form to test if the subject added mass when shifting, and didn't wanna use the rl Hulk movies.
