Question Housepets go Transformation/transgender

    • I'm a fan of the Webcomic Housepets. But because they tend to do long story arc I have it in my binge file which I check every few months.

    So I'm only now stumbling across this storyline which has been running for a half a year.

    It starts here where a normal teen-age boy wakes up to discover he's undergone a transformation, and he doesn't even know the half of it, which he will discover in a few strips.

    • Long before I became a fan of Transgender fiction, I was fascinated by stories where a human turned into an Animal. Not sure why exactly, maybe at the time I thought that they had it easy. No responsibilities or expectations. Ironically of course in all the novels I read the person turned Animal usually had a pretty rough road and it was far from sweetness and light.

    This story is not the first time Housepets has visited the idea of a Human turned into an animal, but the last time they built to it. They created a human jerk, and put him in a redemption story arc that involved him getting a look at pets from the other side. It's my favorite Housepet's storyline, well up until they threw a transgender transformation at me. Best of both worlds.

    And the Transgender theme continues. They got my interest just with the transformations, add a gender swap into the mix and it has me really wondering how this is going to go.

    I really hope that they all don't go back to normal, and continue their life as if nothing has ever happened. The Joel/King story arc gives me hope they won't take such a cheap get out of plot direction.

    And so this story arc comes to a close. I hope this isn't the last we'll see of these two.

    A teenage boy turned into a female squirrel, and her/his girlfriend turned into a male bobcat.
    And this isn't even the weirdest pairing in Housepets. There's the dog with a mousse girlfriend with a weird fetish I won't even talk about here.
