  • As superficially funny as the concept may be, I feel I should warn you... a couple of the more toxic breed of alleged feminists have been complaining that "Karen" is a racist slur. No, I'm not making this up...

After listening to more of the stories, i realised that Wrath would the wrong quality of the potential spirit.

Still trying to find the right description.

The qualities of Narrow-Minded-ness, Self-Righteous-ness, Casual Bigotry, Pettiness, all stand out, but the main one is that of Powerless-ness.

I'm reminded of a paragraph from Pratchett's "The Truth", where an argument between different members of the Ankh-Morpork Caged Birds Society was submitted to The Times. There were a lot of arguments back-and-forth as to whether or not a particular breed of bird should be classified as a parrot or a cockatoo.

As Sacharissa Cripslock described the situation to William de Worde, the reason that they argue so vehemently about this, is because they have no power elsewhere.

Another parallel can be found in the interdepartmental arguments between different branches of Academia. "The reason that the arguments are so vicious, is because the stakes are so small."

This in turn makes the "Karen's" so easy to manipulate, as they can be relied upon to punch down with their ire onto a target of perceived "lesser" social status.

That anger being sourced from the fear of losing their own social status.

Considering the current changes taking place on a global scale, where the Peripheries of Empire are becoming industrialised to the extent that they don't need the Core, then these patterns of behaviour are going to become more common as the global inequities of energy balance start to even out.

Sir Lee: Thank you for more idea's to chew over. :D

    More work to do... :D
