Feel free to discuss any typical forums accepted topic here, Whateley or otherwise. Let's avoid the usual suspects: politics, religion, and so forth that tend to result in flame wars and angered forums readers. Other topics will be considered fair game unless they prove to be too volatile, at which point we'll use Devisor created anti-flame chemicals on the subject.
Question Thanks for all of the hard work.

As the others have said thanks Kristin for fixing the site. It's probably being held together by duct tape, superglue, and sheer willpower at this point.

I am a caffeine heathen; I prefer the waters of the mountain over the juice of the bean. Keep the Dews coming and no one will be hurt.

Thank you.
I hadn't realized how much time I spent on this site until it was down.

I may do another compilation of analytics data at some point to show just how much this site is used. There are some big numbers involved... even in slow times like this, with everyone using Discord instead of the forums. It is likely to be in the area of 10 million visits over the past five years with each visit amounting to an average of 3-4 page views. It's easy to lose track of that when we see the same 20-30 people actively involved in discussions and posting content... and another 30-50 regularly posting or commenting. You might think its a tiny community. But there are a LOT of people who visit no more than once a month, grab all the new content while they're here and don't come on for another month or so.

If anyone is looking for lost content to get back ... the Wayback Machine has a site snapshot from November 12.
web.archive.org/web/20201112043137/http://whateleyacademy.net/
That's still a couple months to recover... but its several less than from the June rollback. The unfortunate side is that snapshots aren't author level access... so only public released content is likely to show up. Again, its more... and it doesn't rely on me digging in a broken database... which is no fun, let me tell you.

Thank You for story comments appreciated and help me know me they are being read and liked.
Note: My story comments can't nor are trying to replace reading the stories, simply my way of enjoying them and letting the authors know I enjoy them.

Thank you so much for all your hard work, Kristin. The thought of losing this place, even though I'm nowhere near as active as when I first joined, I don't know what I would do. Reading posts, even sometimes responding, and especially reading and commenting on stories as they are released is one of the things keeping me sane. Glad I type up and save all my story comments in rtf documents just in case something like this happens.
