Feel free to discuss any typical forums accepted topic here, Whateley or otherwise. Let's avoid the usual suspects: politics, religion, and so forth that tend to result in flame wars and angered forums readers. Other topics will be considered fair game unless they prove to be too volatile, at which point we'll use Devisor created anti-flame chemicals on the subject.

Thank you Reno, We'd been corresponding with her off and on through the years, running any major changes regarding Fey and others past her, but had found it harder to contact her and eventually impossible over this last year and now we know why.v

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

I kept meaning to call, but something would always come up. I'm happy you're finally free of the pain, Mags.

Blessed to the soul who speaks the story and brings joy to those around her. Saga, goddess of mysteries, knowledge, the written word, and poetry, please welcome this sister of ours to the halls of Asgardr. May she drink from the sweetest depths of Mimir and dine with the Lords of the Summerlands. Bless it be and so mote it be.

Terribly saddened to hear this. Which is trite, but I can't think of anything else to say and I can't bear to say nothing.

In listening to people talk about Maggie in this past day since the news spread... I've noted how MANY people in our community (well, both communities... the TG Fiction one as well as the WU) acknowledge Maggie not only as a wonderful artist and friend... but also, how many of us she helped and encouraged to write ourselves.
I know my world is a bit dimmer without her Light in it.

Maggie was my entrypoint to Whateley. She used to have a yahoogroup where she posted the first "Fey" story in a somewhat-beta form, so I read it before the official launch. I loved her writing since... well, I'm not sure which was her first story I read. Possibly "Heaven & Hell: Recruiter," but she might have posted something to the TG-talk list before that. She sure will be missed.
Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

It is a sad day to find that such a great story teller has passed. Wherever Maggie may have gone, I think she will continue to inspire us all. Thank you, Maggie, for all the amazing stories you shared with us. And farewell as you have left us behind and start your new journey and adventure.

I add my name to the growing list of those saddened by Maggie Finson’s passing.
I only ever met Maggie through her stories, and the characters she portrayed within. I was delighted by her humour, enthralled by the plot twists and conundrums she employed.
We have been left with many gifts from her imagination, and rejoice that she shared such with us.
Let’s cherish what’s been left with us, as we each, in our own way, say goodbye.

As with many others, I never "met" Maggie, as she had dropped out from writing for this site years before I even discovered it. Reading her stories was one of the things that drew me into the Whateley fandom, and for that I will be forever grateful to her. I haven't been the most agreeable member of this community, but I have found a place where I can hang out online with like-minded individuals (or, perhaps I should say, mostly like-minded individuals. There are exceptions to the norm, after all).
Regardless of this, I am deeply saddened by Maggie's passing, and despite holding no religious beliefs myself, I hope that if there is some variety of afterlife- however minuscule the possibility of that may be- that she is experiencing it in happiness and bliss. Live long and Prosper, Maggie, wherever you may be.

That's sad to hear, the Fey stories were the first ones I read of all of Whateley. I looked up the obituary and Maggie seemed to have a full life, with even several great-grandchildren, which takes the edge off the tragedy.
Thank you for all the wonderful stories, Maggie. Rest in peace.
