  • I bet his wife/girlfriend was impressed! :D

I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

  • Well in the US you worry about the 'Big One' and California sliding into the ocean. Up here in Canada we worry about Newfoundland sliding back. :P

Some are called 'mad' and shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day.
Others are called 'writers' and they do pretty much the same thing.

  • Actually that is a Wednesday, as there was a 4.4 earthquake in California today.

I prefer Midwest earthquakes, where everyone gets to share.

  • I figured the earth moved title would get attention ;)

We actually get a lot of very minor quakes in BC, as in barely 1 on the scale.

having one large enough to be felt 50+ km away and 42 km up is a rare situation.

I just shrugged and went back to reading since it was over in a few seconds.

  • This is why I like being on the Canadian Shield. It hasn't had a significant movement in about a billion or two years. Ground is suppose to stay in one place, not be a carnival ride.

  • It's good when the earth kicks a bit - that's how you know it's healthy!

Hmm no significant movement for about a billion years? Now that is a bad case of constipation.

The last one I felt, my third earthquake, was 5.2 and about 150 miles (240 km) away. It shook my mobile home enough for me to wonder what it was. The earthquake was felt in central Wisconsin about 375 mi (600 km) from the epicenter.

at that 150 mark you got what we hare call the 'rolling' sometimes its actually fun! but at the 15 mile mark I was at for the 94 one its a sledgehammer

just so you know this every point is 10 times more damage
so a 5.2 is 80 times less than a 6.0 in damage potential
