  • So I get a small amount of pride for this not only happening in my home town, but also where I go to school. Just thought the people here would like to hear about it.

My dreams take me to far off lands and times of distant past and future. They tell what has been done, what will happen and who I am. They show me things beyond the machinations of any man. Tell me, what are dreams to you?

  • Awesome idea; I'm kind of scratching my head on why it wasn't done before, but hey, progress.

  • I was going to make some comments, but suffice it to say I thought twice about it. I have no problems with professorships, or research professorships being added for special topics. As long as the professor actually, well, does what he's supposed to and teaches/researchs the special topic in question. (You'd be shocked on how few do, acutally, HONEST research and HONEST teaching)

I DO have problems (and this is across the board) with the addition of CHAIRS for special topics. Let's just say, my previous experience in the University system, as well as other aspects, leads me to question ANY new chair, of ANYTHING. Period.

  • Yeah, chairs can be hard to get right. You need just the right amount of width, tilt, height, cush, etc. And then there's less obvious questions like "Will my cat be able to sit on the chair back properly?" and "Will the shape be conducive to easily removing my outer layer and draping it over the back, then putting it back on alter, all without getting up or even thinking about it?" My current chair kind of fails on that last point. If the back was a little shorter and narrower it would work better. On the plus side, it isn't trying to murder me like its predecessor was.
