Question How to find new story order

  • Ok, so I haven't had a lot of time lately to catch up on my Whateley. And I'm getting used to the new site.

I go to the Content Canon section now, and I see a bunch of entries for stories that have already been written and are just being uploaded to this site for archives.

Now I'm confused as to which stories are posted that are new to me (anything after Beauty, I think, the one where Tansy finds out who Hindmost is), and which ones sound familiar and I read them before.

  • I am currently working my way through the stuff that hasn't gotten a publication date posted on them yet. At the moment, if you ignore everything that claimed to have been published in December 2015 by Diane Castle... everything else in the list should be properly dated. So everything on the release list between As Beauty Does and Elrod's Charging Buffalo, Part 1 would be new for you. Then, since the end of Nov with CB, Pt 1, you have the other two parts of CB, Bek's Silver Ghost, Golden Angel... and then there's the non-original timeline stuff. Like the first part of the Gen 2 pilot story. Also, in the Library, Bek's newest Erinyes story and E.E.'s Star Wars piece.

Or if you want to wait until Tuesday, I should finish the rest of these date fixes by the end of day, Monday. Everything from the past year and a half is here on the site and properly ordered... its just the stuff in the middle 8 years that we're still filling in. :)

  • As Far as I can see, this is how the transfer of stories looks.

Authors works completed transferring (let me know if anything is missing with a link to it on the Crystal Hall Site):
    • Babs Yerunkle
    • E. E. Nalley
    • ElrodW
    • Kristin Darken
    • Morpheus
    • Motley

Authors works transferred, but still being sorted / dated correctly:
    • Diana Castle / ScramblerJ

Other then these, a selection of the earliest stories was also transferred over by Kristin before the FanFiction Authors started helping. The fan Fic helpers started transferring stories Author by Author to prevent the stories being accidentally transferred twice by different helpers.

The "to be done" list is still huge, I think we're only at best about half way through the story transfer process, and no matter how much the FanFiction Authors help, all we are really doing is queuing up vast amounts of work for Kristin to do to finalise the process, so its going to probably be a few more months yet before its complete.

  • Several of my seem to be missing or not attributed properly. My category page on the wiki as a complete list.

Hi, sorry. Is this your stories on whatelelyacadamemy.net or your stories on the Wiki you are talking about?

If it's the net stories, I transfered them over and I appologise, please tell me which ones I missed, or parts and I'll fix that up, it may take a few weeks after that for Kirstin to check the I transfered the html correctly and fix up the metadata in the system, get it assigned to,the correct author and also correct published date.

If it's something in the transfered story that's a problem, unfortunately Kristin's very recently fixed the meta data for the stories I transfered over, so I've lost edit ability to them, but I believe they are now attributed to you in the system, so maybe you now have access to edit them as you like? Please check with Kristin.

Again, apologies for any mistakes I made in the transfer process.

  • As far as I was able to figure out, E.E. does have a point: there are at least three of his stories that haven't been migrated yet. Those are:

    A Cold Plate of Vengeance
    The Kodiak in Winter
    Wednesday Morning, 5AM

Wednesday Morning was released through the Forums and apparently never re-released in the normal channel, but the other two are available at crystalhall.org. However, they weren't linked from E.E.'s old page at crystalhall.org, which is probably how they got missed during the migration process.

OTOH, I noticed that "A Wellspring of Sorrows" had not been tagged to his category on the Wiki... that's fixed now.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

  • Hmm, does any of our usual suspects have a version of the forum posts for "Wendsday Morning, 5am" they can pass on to me?

I'll try and find the other two stories and get them into the system.

  • Backlog now caught up. Everything transferred in 'should' theoretically be in the Content listings by order of original release with those dates plugged into the 'date published' field. Most (if not all) canon authors should have the ability to make further edits to clean up story formats or transfer errors as necessary.

Of course, there's still a fairly decent number of stories remaining to transfer... but this is definitely progress.

  • Sorry didn't mean to be vague, but Sir Lee was correct in what I meant.

    Kirsten:

I'm unable to edit library stories, but I can edit first generation Canon. FYI

In the queue, I got distracted re-reading it and it didn't get it into the system before Kristin did her last batch, missed by about ten minutes, sorry.

Your missing three did make Kirstin's last clean up and are now posted, let me know if I missed any others.

  • I'm working on Warren's at the moment, would you like to do Bek next?

I'm trying to work my way through the ones with pictures, so I'll probably work on Drunkfu's next.

I need to get Aquerna's story in to finish Diane's, and I think I'll let Kristin digest that, then I'll get Bek's/

  • Arg, bitten by the FanFiction need to wait for an Admin before we can check stories live in the system..

Steel Ribbon, the whole last section is somehow double spaced and I missed it, since Kristin has fixed the author someone in the Gen 1 editors will need to fix it, apologies.

I'll look at the other ones and see if I missed anything else.

Hive 2, the MID card code didn't come across very well.
Hive 3, the song lyrics probably need a paragraph break after them, and one set of them may have been misplaced somehow, it all definitly looks a little wrong slap bang in the middle of a conversation.

Steel Ribbon is fixed - all the double-spacing in the final section has been removed.
