Star Trek Replicator Challenge
sounds exactly like the kinds of things I can see coming-up for Devisors and Gadgeteers to participate in as either part of a class or contest at Whateley. At least as the kernel of an idea.

Intermediate students' project - build a working model of a Star Trek phaser. Bonus points if the form-factor matches the TOS phaser - either phaser 1 or phaser 2. Points will be deducted if it looks like a TNG "dustbuster"

Are we talking about season 1 where if you looked at some of the actual phasers, translators, tricorders, they were changed out for newer models as the first gen were bulkier? Don't forget about that laser canon Mr. Spock used in the original pilot.

yes we all know about the transporter, and the eternal debate on whether its the same person materializing or a molecular clone with the original memories to live on after the original has been deconstructed.

In Gen 1 several characters have built Teleporters. Both Jericho and Loophole use them to put their amor on, Jericho uses another students Teleporter to send Make and Overclock to the MCO office in Berlin. There is in general a mass and distance limitation though.
Don't Drick and Drive.

In a Devisor curriculum I'd expect you'd want classes that are meant to open the mind to possibilities rather than how to do things. Devisor physics, for example, would be rather vague about the actual physics of why the apple fell on Newton's head or how light bends only that it happens. Observation techniques would also be a high priority.
For both Gadgeteers and Devisors there would be requirements for communications skills via drafting, UML and SysML. Devisors might not be able to directly use the skills learned to teach others but they would learn to focus their ideas into a (semi-)coherent worldview.
And finally the staff would also be fighting a rear-guard battle to teach a Philosophy of Technology course to encourage to think on the differences between "can I" and "should I".
