  • Hmm... only four option/elements allowed. Still... workable.

  • Well, at the moment the results are fairly predictable.

  • well, if you think about it... the only option that mattered is one that isn't selectable.

  • Interestingly, poll threads don't appear to bump up the list OR get tagged as having new 'posts' just from vote... only if you post a reply.

  • Clearly the snark level is high in these forums... but its hard to believe only 30% of respondents think I should get paid millions. Or is it just that you don't think I should get millions just for the polls?

Thus why its important to understand the wording of a poll before taking its stats seriously.

  • Well. If it had said billions, I might have considered it. But millions of dollars is not nearly enough.

Pay you millions to run the site, publish stories, and write? Yes.
Pay you millions to deal with polls? Nope. See above

I believe you should be paid millions. I just so happened decided that in order for it to be a fair test, 'all' options must be evaluated, for isn't that what you wanted? Or were you just trying to test 'us'?

And by that last option were you saying someone had to be a 'poll dancer' for those millions?

  • Well, as I noted, the only truly important result to the test was if there were NO responses. THAT would have suggested that the poll was not working (unlike the poll option that says it is not working... which, if someone can select as an option and get a result, implies that the poll IS working). :)

  • I would offer a suggestion if its possible and that is to hide the names of those that have voted. I'm aware that the showing of names does not reflect on how they voted but its more for those who haven't voted. With todays age of shamming others we wouldn't want those that haven't voted to be poll shamed.

And think of poor Elrod as he looks over the names and see that certain friends failed to vote and with his delicate and fragile perspective of how he treats others, well it won't bode well for her, I mean him. I mean for any of them.

I hope I'm not picking on him to much. Perhaps I'll need to set up an opinion poll on that.

  • There are no such options. The polls are on. Or off. :)

To be honest, for the main reason I turned them on, I actually want the who voted tracking... because polls are an easy way for me to get approvals/confirmations on stuff from authors. like: So and so's Gen 0 story approved for publication "Yes, clear for release" "No, too many continuity issues to resolve." "Give it one more round of feedback" "Looks good but needs more depth to fill it out, note suggestions below"
Or votes for canon inclusion of an author. That sort of thing. I can do it in threads... which is what we've done for ages. It's just a convenient shortcut.

What YOU all use them for... well... just be aware that we CAN see who votes. And don't make a bigger fool of yourself than your ego can bear. ;)
