  • Doing a bit of reworking on y Changeling story, and I can't decide on if Elfhielm, the name I'm using in my notes, ends up a jungle that does it's best to kill you, reminiscent of Sara's personal hell, or just a frozen waste.

My thought is that the Sundering contaminated the magical and natural environment, the sidhe that are thee are sool, maybe the planet gets jogged a bit in the Goldilocks zone...jump ahead a few mill years, give or take, and we visit the decedents of those trapped sidhe as the fend off aliens.

Personally I'm kind of leaning Jungle, just cause I see my chrysalis analogs as being a bit xenomorph like, an I don't see the ponies poking around derelict craft.

I am a caffeine heathen; I prefer the waters of the mountain over the juice of the bean. Keep the Dews coming and no one will be hurt.

  • I guess it depends on how Norse you'd want to go. Alfheim tends to get depicted as temperate forest, but that doesn't mean it's safe for anyone but the local "light elves". Even the Aesir seem to leave it be.

  • I'd go for a cliché fire and brimstone "Surt was here" domain.

  • You can always go for more 'alien' styles of environments. There's the crystal forest - in which the main growths are crystal formations like fruit orchards. There's lichen based. Doesn't necessarily have to be something that exists on Earth. Also, if its corrupted, it doesn't have to have originated as something that has an analogue on Earth... nor does it have to resemble something Earthlike in its decayed/corrupted form. There's room to play with both before AND after (if not both).

How about a swamp that burns in the day and freezes at night. And it's the water that's trying to kill you. Like a giant corrupted water elemental.
