  • Wrote myself into a bit of a corner; I have Kara being handed over to Ito to cover her detention for starting fights, and I kind of want what ever she's stuck doing to evolve into her school just, but like I said, I'm in a corner. Any suggestions?

  • In a "let the punishment fit the crime" vein it should be something where she's forced to deal with people who she doesn't get along with normally.

Perhaps as a server in a school restaurant or working as a clerk in the school store.

  • It would depend upon the reason she got into the fights in the first place.

Ito's never one to stop a student from having an appropriate learning experience, so he'd share the gift of the most educational experience that she could have...

Historically, most of the peasant martial arts were extensions of the tools that the peasants used every day, hence, the rice-threshing tools that became the tonfa's, and flail's, the vikings using oars and boathooks, that became the basis for the spear and halberd forms, and of course, axes, hammers, and bows.

As the tools were used every day, the tool-users would find some muscle movements that would come more easily than others, as those are the muscles that are being practiced with every day. You can see this reflected in the forms and kata's.

Trace the original movement patterns for the use of tool, and you'll find the optimum pattern that the users will fall into. Pattern's lead to predictability, which leads to Ito giving a learning experience that would help a student transcend that tool's limitations.

Given Kara's capabilities, and powers, and, given Ito's sense of the appropriate, what would Ito see as a good pattern of "muscle movements", and what would be an appropriate set of tasks that those would extend from?

NB. I'm using "muscle" in the broadest sense here. The brain is a muscle. Dexterity is a muscle. Fine control of every ability, both baseline, and meta-human, is a muscle. Without regular practise, it atrophies.

One nice example can be found here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1af2O7jBGs

No I love her quite a bit. I just want to curse her with an interesting life.

  • At the moment I'm seeing most of her fights as the more powerful asshats seeing an "Underdog" and going after her or those who do accept that label. She prefers Mighty Mouse. I do also see her getting in trouble with the Thornies and GSD crowd at first due to her reactions to them. I think that her getting over her reaction will be part of her punishment by Ito now that I think about it.

  • It's not a punishment, it's a learning experience. :P
