I owe everyone participating in the first writing prompt a retrospective post of my own about what I learned from the prompt, but I thought I'd put a couple questions forward to the community regarding the next prompt. The first question I have is one of timing. Should I wait for the finished stories from the first prompt to be released, or should I put out a new prompt without waiting?
The second question I have is about the nature of the prompt. I have one prompt looking backwards, and two prompts looking forward. One of the forward prompts covers a scene which the canon authors likely will write, while the other doesn't. Which of these directions should the next prompt cover? My intention had been to do the backwards looking prompt next, but I don't know when canon timeline will pass the point in time the forward prompts are set.
Hopefully some kind of consensus can be established in the next week or so.

Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to participate in the next prompt. I forsee a long period of internet inactivity starting sometime this summer.
So, the timing doesn't affect me too much, unless it starts soon enough for me to be done by that point.
A backwards prompt would be nice.

I'll just go ahead and put in my two cents here, though I'll start with an apology. I volunteered to participate in this writing prompt experiment without realizing the additional time commitment that would be required, so between my G2 canon work, my ever present college schoolwork, and the hunt for a part-time job, I've had to put this particular project on the back burner. I particularly want to apologize to Domoviye and Quorry, since you two are the guys I'm supposed to be working with on this. I still want to finish the project, since we've got some pretty good ideas for it, but I've got to find the time to work on it first.
As far as an upcoming writing prompt is concerned, I think I'm going to have to learn my lesson here and admit that I just can't over-commit myself, regardless of how much fun I think it would be to write. So while I would love to see more prompts come out (and more people willing to write them), I'm going to have stick with just my canon writing. I think most of you guys would prefer that anyways.

I am a caffeine heathen; I prefer the waters of the mountain over the juice of the bean. Keep the Dews coming and no one will be hurt.

My suggestion is put up a new prompt and when people are ready to work on it they can, if it's one that you don't think needs tailored to the person's characters like the combat finals.

If it matters any, the remaining prompts that I've composed don't require the same level of collaboration as the first prompt (I've filed that under my own list of lessons learned).
