  • My, oh my. Things have changed around here, haven't they? Take one good peek in after some time, and a whole new forum pops up.

But yeah, Polk Kitsune here. Used to d reviews of every stories of Whateley as I went. It's been a long, long time since then. Things get in the way, things change, writing slows down, and along with that, distractions come in.

But recently started reading again, enjoying again. Not sure if I'd be able to continue now, and I don't think I'd ever keep up the pace to catch up to the new stories. But it was really nice to have people read, and enjoy what I thought of the stories.

What does worry me though, is that I can't find my way back to the Fanfiction section. Was pondering if I shouldn't re-post my story, maybe with a bit of editing put in. Or should I find another place to put it in?

  • Reading the FanFiction section is open to all, but you need to PM Kristin to gain access to post stories in the FanFiction section now.

  • Ah, thank you. I'll have to take care of that then.

And I take it the fanfictions are in the content folder, that's currently empty?

  • Actually Polk, we're trying out a new program with fan fic. The forums is still the home of the 'trial and error' and 'in progress' stuff but we're now set up to have fan fiction authors with 'complete' work publish that to the main content lists much like canon work. As time rolls along, the hope is that a sort of 'council' of fan fic authors and editors and reviewers will point at specific pieces of fan fiction and say "this needs to go the published route" ... at which point that author will do some extra editing, work with an editor, or whatever they need to do to put some polish on it; and then we'll give it full published status. Pieces that still need work or aren't really complete or were just sort of experiments to play around with in the world will stay in the forums for workshopping and whathaveyou. Fan fic authors that regularly get stuff to the quality level that merits publishing are likely to be ones that we will want to kidnap for canon status anyway... so this serves as a good test process and a clearer road to what is involved in getting canon status. But even without canonizing anyone, it puts the best fan fiction where people can find it to read it. And that's a win no matter how you look at it.

  • Polk! Hi! I remember you.

Don't worry about remembering me, I was a lurker in your heyday. :p

  • Mmmnnnn. Interesting idea. Very interesting. Especially getting the chance of getting into the published work area, along with getting some extra help along with it. It'll probably be rare, but it happens.

The other question though: what is considered a 'complete work'? Hrm. Mine could say it's 'finished', but open for more... Well, I suppose you'd be the judge.

Looking forward to see those who make the bar :3

    And Hi Nagrij ^^

It's fine to be a lurker sometimes, not easy to step forward sometimes.

Glad to know I'm remembered. I can only hope it's good memories. ;3

  • Well to be fair it was mainly seeing your name everywhere on the old site, and on a review of every story.

I guess that counts as good memories, right?

  • Hehehehehe. ONLY 800. Indeed. >3

And through all I've done I'd only covered... 60 of them? Maybe a bit more? Around 70?

That's not counting the handful of fanfics I was asked to cover too. @.@

And stories were still coming too.

Then again, reviews were getting longer and longer. I made it harder on myself. X3

  • lmao, was kidding. I won't stop you from reading them and dropping me a line or responding on errors found. But they are up. Well, were up. For the new site, 2 are up so far, in fragmented fashion. I'm working on that, but you don't need to.

  • Hi ho and welcome :) Pay no attention to the fact I write a Kitsune character fan-fiction, I assure you that's just coincidence. Delightfully ironic, but coincidence.

May be easier to catch up on reviews if you start now while there's not as much material on the site  If you ever want to review mine go right ahead, I'm always looking for feedback on what to improve to make it better :)

"Uh-oh." "Don't tell me - we're about to go over a huge waterfall." "Yup." "Sharp rocks at the bottom?" "Most likely." "Bring it on."

  • Coincidence, maybe, but bonud points anyways. :3 What can I say? I like more foxes in the world~<3

And sure, I'll take a look. Sounds fun. :3

I... May do some of the main story reviews, when I get the time, but not all the stories. I want to be able to enjoy some of it, without having to pause too, and reviewing some fragments isn't so good either.

But when a story I want to put a strogn emphasis on comes up, yeah, I'll pull up a new review thread. Why not?

  • Sounds like a winning plan to me :)

I've got comment threads down in the comments part of the Tunnels, then I'm working on getting the first one through the publishing process, so any comments or points would be very welcome. The second one is still being written so it's very rough and incomplete, but it's there.

I like Kitty to death, but I invented her so I aught to ;)

And I replied to your thing, and posted more for your reading pleasure.

But seriously, it's for your reading pleasure. You don't need to review it if you don't want to; relax and take deep calming breaths... (I don't want to hear from the cabal later that I broke you with my insanity) :p

  • Heehee. Cool. Will have to read ^^ Maybe I'll give a comment, rather than a full review, make it hella shorter. ;3

    And Fox, gime a few, before I review yours. A mite longer, and I'll be a bit busy in the next few days. ^^;

  • NO rush whatsoever :) I'm working on some editing to try and get it "Published" while also working on the second one, so take your time and real life comes first after all. Read because it's fun, not to turn it into a project ;)

  • I've kinda came back for a bit so I would be remiss if I failed to welcome someone. Please forgive me in that error and lapse of desire. I blame Mrs. Hobbs in the kitchen with a baseball bat. Sorry wrong forum.

Anyway Welcome back Polk and from what I have seen you've been already poking holes in other peoples work. Its good to see an active participant in the forums and already to go. Or was that shanghaied into doing the works of others. Well I'll leave you be as I see you won't be a stranger nor are a stranger to many on this forum.

Oh and please do me the favor of escorting Mrs. Hobbs to the correct location like a good chap. Thank-you. Just do a duck and cover every so often she has a mean swing.

  • Welcome back, Polk! How up to date are you on the stories?

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

  • I think Polk was up to around 2009 or so. :)

He needs to just go on a reading binge and get caught up, skipping the reviewing thing . There's a lot of really well written stories in the last couple years that are really worth reading that he's not going to get to for another decade or two otherwise. :P

  • Hee ^^ Thank you, thank you. ^^

And yeah, 2009 sounds about right. It's been a whiiiiiile. Hopefully, I can pick back up.

Right now, I'm only up to Boston Brawl 2... Okay, I skipped ahead a bit to read Eldritch 2, I couldn't just let it go at part 1, I'm afraid. I'm following the order given by the wiki, and I know I got a long time to go, but I will put the reviews on hold... Or try to. Hopefully, progress should be fine.

I'll try to keep active in the forum too. Nice to be back around. ^^
