Newsies!

Is the next musical up in the 'big tent' of the Pavillion this summer. Lots of paintering going on on stage all afternoon and evening. The round stage of the arena is covered in scaled up 'newspaper and print' from headlines in all caps to tightly packed columns of articles. It's going to look amazing under lights. I have seen many of the shows that reach the Music Circus stage elsewhere... and while the quality here is always good, its difficult being a professional in the industry and not being jaded... its hard to knock my socks off with a show, especially when I've seen it before and have something to compare it to. And, for that matter, the more years I work with theatre, the easier it is to compare shows of a similar style and not even need to be yet another repeat.
Fortunately for me, the next three productions all look like they're going to be ones I'll enjoy AND I've not seen any of them live... though I have, admittedly, heard some of the music performed in reviews. Newsies, Gypsy, and Mamma Mia... and then we'll close with Little Shop of Horrors, which is a fun show, but I've actually done two productions of it personally and see at least two more.
Something else that should be greatly entertaining is today's new content. Morpheus brings us another Imp driven story, his seventh in the canon progression. It's great stuff and completely "Imp-ervious to Reason". This is Part 1. Enjoy. :)
